We got a call late last night regarding a stray cat that a lady had been feeding for the last 12 - 18mths. Strangely enough the turn in weather had made her phone us to have him taken care of.
We decided to call this wee fella Wilfred from the Name a Cat from the Auction as he is quite a distinguished (if a little grubby n bedraggled) looking wee soul. Thanks go to CarolM for the name!
Paul got there to find an older cat, black and white and looking rather bedraggled, sad and with a big chunk of his ear missing. Obviously the old boy has been fending for himself for quite a while and he had lost his trust in humans and so, Paul ended up having to set up the trap to get him.
Once caught he brought the big boy back to base and we got him settled in for the night. Even managed a wee chin tickle and he ate which was great.
This morning however saw a different story when Paul went to feed him and said cat decided to bolt past Paul at a rate of knots and before he knew what had happened Wilfred had taken up residence in the most awkward spot imaginable!
cats! I tell you who'd have them! - doesn't he know we are trying to help him! lol
Anyways... we have kept an eye on him today and he hasn't moved from his current spot and are currently going for the ignore and hunger approach. Hopefully when he gets hungry he'll decide to start getting a little braver!
At that point we hope he'll let us take a wee piccy or two!
