Did you get any meds from your visit? If not then they should let you have some without taking him back.
Vaccination doesnt mean they cant catch the disease, just that if they do its hopefully much milder.
The main thing to worry about is a high temp, as long as hes still eating/drinking he should be ok.

Ok so we have been to see the very nice vet man
Zak wasn't so impressed he had his temperature taken and some dye in his eye and
according to the vet it could be an infection like chlamydia/herpes virus caused by cat flu,
he sneezed a few times today so when asked i mentioned it
he was fully vaccinated in November!!!!!
Is an inside cat

now my query is could we be bringing this in from the cat that lives outside?????
Did not think to ask the vet, the outside cat does on occaision come inside too

Eye cream shelf life once opened is short for a reason so its best you chucked it away  ;D
He doesnt look really swollen but you could phone your out of hours practice for advice over the phone. I'd continue bathing and take him tomorrow

I use something that people use for babies, sorry, don't know the name. You get it over the counter and it costs next to nothing. They boil it then and there.

We tried steroids for Willow a few times but in the end, the vet said any effect is temporary so just watch for any cloudy discharge. Since she got sick, she hasn't been keeping them clean so I clean her eyes 2 or 3 times a day with Cleanocular (from VetUK) - it lasts for ages. I just use little make-up pads. The vet said to use a clean one for each eye to avoid cross-infection if one of them becomes infected. She used to make a fuss but she purrs when I do it now as she has finally realised that her eyes feel better afterwards. It has things like camomile in so I guess the effect is soothing.

Join the club, Elias is squinting forever :(
The biggest problem is that became shy from me, it's very difficult to get hold of him to take care of the eye.
I had two brands of cream, noone of them helped.

That's what the practice manager at my vets told me about most meds - creams can become contaminated but it is unlikely. Hope he's feeling better today. As well as Willow's constant runny eye, both Kylie and Alice get little flare-ups of watery eye which seems to go by itself. The vet said if the discharge is cloudy, there could be infection but if it is clear, it should be fine.

One thing I don't understand is Willow's runny eyes are a reddish liquid but with Alice & Kylie, it is clear - I though cats tears were red?

Poor Zac, hope his eye is better today, I don't think that the cream would have harmed him it would just be less effective

Is it looking any better since you bathed it?
If you are really worried take him tomorrow, I would be inclined unless he is really bad to leave it until Tuesday when your regular Vet is open.

Good luck and keep us informed.
