Hope she's just quiet today cos it's cold and miserable.

Could you phone your vet tomorrow and ask his opinion? I think you need to put your mind at rest more than anything else.

If only they coud talk - they almost do, but not enough. :Luv2: :Luv2:

  • Where are we supposed to sleep, then?
Sounds to me like she's brushed up against a chemical of some kind - battery acid perhaps?  :shify:

I would think there is a plausible explanation to this. I really doubt they've been cut off by someone

It might be that she shed those Whiskas and they are regrowing. They would be much more visable than a couple of missing ones as they are so short so stand out.

She could have had an itch or something and rubbed her face quite vigorously on the corner of something rough, which could have cut them. Although, I would think the front would be cut first in that case. But you never now.

Try not to worry yourself thinking something bad happened to her

lay me down take it slow I'm ready to stumble, sing & then swing low

Its weird because of the ones it is, someone would have had to have made a real effort to cut the ones that are cut!

She is what I call a proper independant cat - only comes to you on her terms fully and doesn't hang around much, she is a real daddys girls and not too fussed about strangers, anyone who would have got her would have got scratched all over so if they did I hope they are covered in scratches.

I keep double checking her all over to make sure.     She didn't go out last night but then its freezing with snow so I cannot assume she is not going out because of what could have happened to her.    She seems  alittle quiet today.  :'(

RW came home with the whiskers on one side of his face like your poppy's.....I thought about it, but couldn't fathom it out. It wouldn't have been 'cos someone got his hands on him as he was not a people cat...just a mummys boy so no-one could have got close enough to do something that silly and pointless.

It never happended again so I let it at that none the wiser!

It's horrible not knowing what has happened Nikki  :'(  I don't think they will have been singed because there would be somefur singed too and a smell of burning - I presume.

Maybe she caught the side of her face on something - I can't think what really but I don't want to think someone has done this to her.  Would she allow anyone to pick her up?

What are the people like that live near you?  Do you think anyone could do something so horrid?

At least you say she is not hurt and she is home with you now.  It makes you not want to let her out again though.

Poppy has just come in and it looks like half her whiskers have been cut off, only leaving about 1cm left  but the weird thing is its only on 1 side and towards the back of her face not the front ones!      Looks like the ends are slightly thicker like when they get them singed by candles but how only the back few and not the front?    Has someone cut them?     Other than that she is fine?     I am worried now!      Anyone experienced anything llike this before??
