cutting lumps of fur off

this isn't just matted fur though - it is coated with sticky Logic gel

but it seems to be getting smaller on its own, or perhaps Tosker is reaching some of it

Tiffany might be up for biting it off, but certainly not licking

I always cut into the lumps then tease apart

that's what I do too just gently then pull apart then cut off the loosened matted bits.

or another idea - get one of your other cats to lick the stuff off? No need for any surgery then.

Oh yes I would dare but she would be long gone before I got close enough 

I have watched her develop a matt and some days later found it dumped on the carpet, have to think she also trims her own nails

If you need to creep up on him to do it id go for leaving it there, scissoring needs to be done on a cat thats controlled
You can get round ended face scissors that are small like nail ones but are shaped well, made by mikki, i use these for tazs knotty armpits

you mean you wouldn't dare go anywhere near her with a brush in hand, let alone a pair of scissors

It will gradually grow away from his skin and he will deal with it, unless he is like the birmans cos they are too posh to deal with any thing

If in doubt , I would leave it and when he eventually sees a vet they will cut it out for you.

Nail scissors can do a lot of damage and can easily cut his skin, if you dont uses a comb.

Although cats skin seems tough when giving an injection its far too easy to cut them with scissors.

 I shall creep up on him when he's fast asleep

and I'll use nail scissors cos they're very small and less likely to do any damage

Trigger and Tiffany love Logic and will lick it from the tube, or if I smear it on them they get every last trace of it up, but Tosker alas is not so keen

Just make sure you put a comb beteen the lump and his skin cos its so easy to nick them. so you are cutting on top of the comb.

If you can take the top of the lump off then often you can gentle pull ther rest apart.

It will grow back. I made the mistake of putting logical gel on my cats paws and then they flicked it off all over the place  Best off to put it a bit further up the arm I think

Yep, it will grow back.  Sticky stuff that Logic gel, got some on Gwynnie's ruff the other day!

Tosker has a sticky lump of fur on his back where his clever owner put Logic gel for him to lick off, before realising it wa out of reach of his tongue

if I cut off the fur stuck together, will it grow back again? or will the sticky bit fall out eventually anyway?
