So true, my lot would be obese if i left a bowl of biscuits down for them    Especially miss ohh la la who managed to put on 1kg on steroids even tho i didnt give her more food, and shes mainly indoors, she must have been raiding bird food

I have to supervise feeding as Dave is slipping back into old habits. Those habits being shoving Chilli out of her dinner so he can eat it, her being so laid back, she lets him! His behaviour when he decides he wants fed is a bit out of control as well, he just goes on a naughty rampage until he is fed, whether it is 5 minutes before he is due to be fed or 5 hours he will be naughty up until the food hits his dish. I cannot leave any food out, cat or hooman, because Dave will eat it.

Gizzy sounds like Misa but is half his size LOL.......Misa cant walk past a dish without trying its contents.

The birmans get fed in the bedroom but Misa has found that too and am worried that he sneaks in during the night to help himself. its getting very worrying!

Sasa doesnt seem to eat that much but she is now 6kg........sigh

Try calico torties    I think they were born to be the shape of large rugby balls! And Sasa eats so daintily, not like piggy Misa who gobbles and takes bits out of dishes to eat off the floor........sigh

When they were wee tiny babies staying at Pinkbear's Kitten Hotel I'm afraid Gizzy was always the one with his head stuck in the food bowl. Jerry was the intrepid climber (who constantly needed fishing down from the top of the curtains only to climb right back up again!) and also the fearless hunter and killer of toilet rolls.  Gizzy though.... eat, cuddles, more eat, more cuddles and a snack inbetween.

Aww bless him, he is rather ample but then I'm one to talk, Dave has been on a diet since we got back to Edinburgh and is now much more svelte but with a little belly paunch . He's a right piggy and given half the chance will happily eat all day every day but he is also naturally a very very big lad, very long legs and body and no toy dog breed would stand a chance! I have to say though, that tail is magnificent, can I borrow him to just wander round my flat and give it a good dust

dont think your cat is that overweight to be honest, think my cat was slightly bigger lol. but yeah thats what we did too a pouch in morning and a pouch at night, is your cat neutered? cuz some seems to put more weight on then compared to others. would he like to eat dry food? cuz might help to give him some of that and just one pouch a day half in morning and half at night and the dry food is weight loss type food worth a try maybe? to slim him a little, but some cats i think are naturally big and broader than others. but defo dont compare him to a chihuahua they are so tiny!!!

Well in all fairness to little Gizz, the Chihuahua breed standard is for no more than 2.7kgs, but the preferred weight is between 1.8 - 2.7kgs and they can be smaller than 1.8kgs, so I think lots of kitties could squish a Chihuahua 

If it makes you feel any better I have the opposite problem in the Mr Mig (Bunny) is bigger than Memphis the scrawny cat.

Obviously we are going to need gratuitous Gizzy pictures now that he has a thread all about him

Giz had a pouch in the morning , one at night and Purina one biccies (and not many at that) at lunchtime. The problem is he eats everyone elses too if he gets the chance , and failing that goes and catches his own!

Just googled Chinese Crested and they are much bigger than the size chihuahua I had in mind.  They are a lot prettier too.

ever seen a chinese crested live? compare cat tho that more similar in size well at least the bigger cats... not the tiny ones they are more chihuahua size. chinese cresteds are similar in size as a ragdoll i would say. all cats vary in sizes and shapes...

aw bless... hehe. the cat i had simba was a fatty too, just loved food too much... didnt like his dry food so got nice whiskas chunks in gravy hehe

good luck with the diet, wiill be the best for your kitty to lose a bit of weight if too chunky... wish i lived at home last few years with my kitty and i would have put him on a diet. got bad hips cuz of it and eventually reason why had to put him to sleep. learnt my lesson for next cat... dont give in to temptation...

even my dog is getting chunky now and rarely eats that much (well maybe too much tit bits :S ) but after got him neutered started putting weight on, so got to be really careful now

Thats it , Gizmo is now officaly on a diet! The pet sitter just came round to meet the boys , and bought her pet chihuahua with her. Lets just say that if Giz has sat in her she would have benn obliterated!
