well the good news is that tonight li'l miss chi chi actually let me speak to her without hissing at me. Progress!!
She allowed me to give her big ear rubs n strokes and even let out a wee trilly purr for me, was so pleased as she was so miserable yesterday.
We are starting to wonder if the story we were given is even the truth after we had a fone call tonite from the lady who handed her over.
We had been told the aunt (owner) had died and the neice had taken chi chi on but couldn't keep her. On probing her tonite for info I gleane that said 'aunt' is still around and the neice had her 5 years!!
In that time chi chi has not seen a vet for checkups, vacc's etc, as far as we are led to believe, so does make us wonder if the reasons for giving her up are even true! There again lady didn't know (seemingly) that cats needed to go to vet for check ups but also thought chi chi was a long haired persian! <sigh>
At least now that she is settling and getting decent food into her we can improve her general condition and well being and get her coat back to beautiful and soft as it is very dry just now and her skin itchy from a flea allergy reaction.
hopefully she will settle more over the next few days and her character will start to show. Then, when less stressed we can see about a vet check for this wee star
