He would sell his soul for one.

I've just confiscated his after he broke into my drawer which was fully shut, pinched it and was just going meow meow meooooww expecting me to play when I should be snoozing.

I shall remain sig free - was just being honest.

I don't think the price will go as high as his soul  :naughty: You'll just have to keep bidding your hard earned pennies on his behalf ;D

Like I said, I do get where you're coming from and am glad that at least we have the option to turn them off as I wouldn't want people's enjoyment to be marred if they weren't removeable. Anyway, the more posts on this thread the better as it keeps it at the top and all publicity is good publicity :evillaugh: .....   Don't worry, I'll do it to myself :slap:

The draw signature is what made me turn sigs offs. It was a last resort as I felt like I was being stalked and it was really uncomfortable. I viewed as a guest to see the promo sig size  :P

I don't even know what sigs people have nowadays or who owns what cat or whose who! Too much of the same thing can be a bit too much. Its just like those people who keep stalking Memphis and trying to steal his kitty kopter - they get everywhere!

It's not most people though Den, I think probably 10 at most have the draw signature (which has raised nearly £1500 a year for the rescues) so if it helps raise awareness for new members then that's all good in my book.  I do see where you are coming from but also loads of people have signature pics waaaaayyy bigger than the promo banner, which I guess would be just as annoying for those members that are bothered by it - which is why it's good that there's an 'off' button!

Anyway, if you don't have sigs turned on how do you know how big the promo thingy is  :shify:  :evillaugh:

I hate having sigs turned off and would like to one day turn it back on - like I said this is the only forum I have ever done it on. It is too much having them in most peoples sigs. You dont need them in loads of peoples sigs to advertise, just one or two.

I can't even remember what mine looks like.

Anyhoo my problem isn't with signatures - like I said i'm really tolerant and I do like them on forums. Just like I like avatars too. Its just the size of the promote ones - I find too big. And when you have lots of large ones all on one page it gets a bit overwhelming. Having the same thing repeated over and over really grates on me too.

Fair enough, each to their own  ;)

So it does the complete opposite of promoting .. I am really tolerant with Sigs and avatars on forums so if I've been forced to disable them I wonder how many others have  :scared:

Twisted logic there though - you're saying you turn sigs off and maybe others do too so you don't see the 'promotions' but if they weren't there at all and therefore you kept your signatures on then you wouldn't see them either.

As Purrs was primarily set up to raise funds for cat rescue (although we have great fun and have made great friends too  :)) then I think the promo signatures are justified.  If, like Den, people find them annoying or they cause problems with your browser then just switch them off - everybody's happy then  ;D

I'm going to be the resident grump here .. But honesty is the best policy  :shy: Purrs is the only forum where I have ever done this .. But I have actually had to disable signatures in my profile. I can no longer see any sigs including my own. Ive had to do it because the 'promote' signatures are just too much for me. With so many having them it makes the pages take longer to load, it quite often makes my browsers crash and a lot of the time I am reading on the go and having these signatures everywhere plus a small screen it becomes excrutiating.

So it does the complete opposite of promoting .. I am really tolerant with Sigs and avatars on forums so if I've been forced to disable them I wonder how many others have  :scared:
