CC, I asked for opinions - don't apologise. Both you and Trigger have been very honest. I think Nicky would agree in usual circumstances but overall Pumpkin is an affectionate and seemingly content kitten; and with regards to doing what a "normal" kitten can do - well to her this might be normal. If she's been this way since birth then her way of life will be this so she won't know any different.

Nicky wanted to see if anyone out there could cope with such a special little girl before making a solid decision, which I think is the right thing to do. Pumpkins current fosterer is caring for her well.

MKR, they don't know enough about her to know for sure what happened, unfortunately. I think that would make the decision a lot easier for Nicky.

Have to agree Trigger, although an animal can be sane in mind- I dont think its fair to keep an animal this way, she wouldn't be able to do most things a "normal" cat could do and I think this would affect her standard of life. Sorry guys just my opinion

this sort of case really really worries me

even if a suitable home is found for her now, home circumstances change - and if she were ever to become a stray her situation would be horrendous

she doesn't just need care 24/7, by the sound of it, but 24/7 for perhaps 15 years or more - is keeping her going really in her best interests?

do they know what caused the disability?  spinal damage?  nerve damage?  poor wee mite.  thinking of her and hoping for a positive outlook for her

Yep. She's only young - 13 weeks. Her name's Pumpkin and they aren't sure if there was an accident when she was with her mum or if someone's done the damage to her.

It's a difficult situation, because without the right person to care for her Pumpkin can't really be homed. If someone wasn't there to help her with toileting then she might suffer with severe urine burns.

I guess what I'm saying is, I'm testing the water. Does anyone think they or anyone they know could offer Pumpkin what she needs? I've talked to Nicky about a wheel assistance and she says she thinks Pumpkin would adjust to having one. (Attached a picture so people know what I mean.)

Nicky emailed me about a disabled kitten, who needs serious 24/7 care. She's apparently a loving, friendly girl but needs help with toileting; someone needs to help her into the litter tray every few hours or she misses.

She's a long haired girl and am waiting for pictures.
