Aww, thanks everyone - I've passed all your compliments to Cas tonight when I went round for dinner and he purred in appreciation.

Yes, his eyes are a light mintyish green, really beautiful. Mum always said she thought he looked 'exotic' ever since he was a kitten. He's definitely a bit different to a russian blue, his face isn't quite the same shape but there could be some in him.

are his eyes green? in that pic he looks as if there is some Russian Blue in there somewhere, though  his ears are shorter and his tail plumier

He really is an amazing cat, huge too, although part of that is due to having such thick fur. He was supposed to come live with me when I moved out but mum was very attached to him and it worked out ok in the end as I have my beautiful girls and I see him loads. He always comes running when I go to visit and we have a cuddle and a fuss.

3 Legged Casper - Nearly a year on

Me and my mums cat Casper was in an rta about a year ago which resulted in him losing a rear leg.

Initially he found the loss of his leg hard, especially as he was confined to a cage after to op. Slowly he started to get used to having only the three legs and not long after his op, he went for a walk along the hall. Here's a video of him.

He was stressed for several months after the op and would have strange crying episodes, he was also considerably more angry and agressive than previously. Nowadays he is back to his old greedy, picky self. He goes out in the garden under supervision and has a friend in the shape of a big fluffy ginger cat called Horace who comes round to the back door to see if Casper can come out to play. He has some amazing turns of speed, aparently 3 legs are as good as 4 at speed.

here are some pics of his progress:
