Tanni, where is the news box with the auction stuff in cos you cant see the other one unelss on home page?

I needz all members to see it all the time lol

I have put it back but Can you actually see all of that news box up the top then?  I can only see the 1st hammer and the Purrs word in it. It also makes the page headings move all funny to the left :(

We have decided not to have more than one auction a year cos we want the one to be really big and be surported by all.

So we have a Cat Show instead  ;D ;D

Afriad we cant leave it that late Rosella because of all the work that has to be done after, which takes an small army about two hours to do.

So 2000 is as late as we can leave it really or others who are working the next day will not be able to help in the clear up and all the posts for every item.

I will have been doing auction work for about 15 nights at gone midnight already by this time, together with another helper and by Monday am going to be exhausted.

Its one of those things that becomes a pain to do but one misses it so much when its finished

This is a big announcement and would like to hear views.

As far as we know and via all our PO Chrissy cards there is not postal strike so winnings will be able to be posted as usual ;D

However Tan and I have discussed the subject of the end date and time of the auction and due to a certain TV programme that as far as we know is scheduled for 2000 on the final day of our auction, we feel that to be fair to all and take as much money from you all as possible in the last hour we need to move  our closure.

This is not just for Tan and I's benefit  :really: but also for all the helpers that complete the auction work after the time of the closure and of course any bidders that may also want to watch the bloomin results........think it maybe the semi final.

So the proposal is to move the auction closure to the next day, Monday at 2000hrs and I hope this will allow peeps to get home and logged on and biding.

I think that 1900 will not be late enough for some.

Ok views please  :shify: :shify:

Yes, I do want my share to go to Sunny Harbour.  I know the printed item has not been done this year but we do now have the draw which regularly pays out money to rescues, including the larger amount at the end of the year, which I think makes up for the monies raised from the printed item.

Yes thanks to Kellys idea for the save a life draw we do have very regualr donations going to the rescue now  ;D ;D  The rescues get 55% of the monthly funds each month which is the larger percentage of the draw sales but don't get an annual amount. The other 45% of the monthly draw sales are fro the members prizes - 25% is a monthly draw prize and 20% acculuted each month for the members annual prize in Dec. We did it this way so the rescue get a higher percentage on a quicker regualr basis.

It is looking good for auction items again so hopefully we can beat our last years total.  ;D

Hi Les hun

Yes you have a good point and thanks very much for it

The reason we thought to start putting a limit on the top fund to one rescue was cause we felt it was a long time (every 4 years) before each indepandant rescue had funds from the auction and we were worried we wern't being fair that each independant had to wait that long to get anything from the auction.

But i also see your point that we haven't done this in the last two auctions so it might be unfair to the rescue picked for this auction.  If the other independants don't mind waiting their turn (4 yrears ) for the full auction funds, we can leave it as before. :)

I will have a word with Gilly.  :)

 :thanks:

No it wasnt done for last two years but we had a printed project going too and the money went to one of the other rescues so it meant that all the  rescues would alternate with the auction and the printed project and get money every coulple of years.

This year we have dumped the printed project because it cost too much in time and effort and costs, against not enough sales to justify this.

So thats why the limit has been introduced cos it would then take 4 years for money to come round for each rescue, which is a long time.

We will be very happy to donate your 1/3rd if we get more than the target, to Sunny Harbour if thats what you would like to happen

We are just trying to help everyone a little bit but the main rescue a lot more.  :innocent:

I would just like to say that I am pleased Sunny Harbour is the recipient of this year's auction.  However, I would also like to state that I do not wish to receive a proportion of the auction monies and would like anything that would have been given to me to be given to Sunny Harbour.

The auction has always been for one rescue and I think it unfair that they not be allowed to exceed the £2,000 limit.  This did not happen last year when this figure was exceeded and I do not think it should this year.
