don't give up up, I bet he is so close by, Pinkbears Tilly story always comes to mind when I see people have lost cats - she was missing for ages about 5 doors away but was scared and only coming out in the dark, if you want me to do any more leaflets just shout

is it Majorie Nash who is letting you have a kitten? she turned me down, I'd like to think if she saw the life my lot lived she wish she hadn't! anyway I'm not at work this week but you can pm or leave a message here if you need me to do anything

Yes never give up on Fable and am sure when he comes home he will love his new playmates

There comes a point sooner or later that one has to get another cat or cats, they dont replace any other but they allow you some semblence of normality and if you can allow more furry friends into your heart, Fable will be very pleased for them

Just had a call from the lady at Southfields and the cat came back again but it wsan't Fable, she was able to identify him better this time and this cat had white on his mouth whereas Fable doesn't. So we have another dead end and no idea where to look now.

Just before Fable went missing we had decided to get a companion for him as our other three lady furries are much older the youngest being 9. Anyway after much ado and toing and froing we have decided to get another kitten (or two). Our local rescue has dozens in need of a good home and we need a little kit to keep us upbeat. The depression that we have gone through has been horrible and we are not giving up on Fable before anyone thinks that, but we also know that we need to do this to maintain our sanity. Having spoken to the local rescue lady who listened to me crying my heart out for an hour, she agrees that we need to do this. She also went through all of the sightings with me and we agreed that the only positive ones were likely the ones two days after he went that were on the farm land at the bottom of our road. I camped out there every day for a week before having to go back to work and then spent every evening there for four weeks, it is only this week that we moved to a different area and still nothing. I don't know what to think about where he may be but when he comes home he will have a new friend waiting for him.

So, please keep Fable's return in your thoughts and keep fingers crossed also that we will be able to offer a home to a youngster in need.

Dawn, of course you can come and meet Fable when he comes back, if we get a kitten you can come meet him too if you like

Another point that came up when I was speaking to the rescue was the young kitten Bengal that we keep meeting on our search for Fable, I have been looking to see if anyone has lost one in the area through the registers but nothing so far. Many times people have called us thinking that it is Fable although he's nothing like him really. The rescue want me to get him scanned and then take him to them if he's not chipped as he does appear to be lost and all of the local farms have no idea who he belongs to. I am hopeful that the chap has a home that we can return him to or that he will at least be warm and safe if we have to give him to the rescue, he's such a friendly little chap.

came across an adorable tabby and white by the new flats were cedars used to be, I was comparing with your photo - it wasn't him but I did feel sorry for the poor little thing out in the dark - I hope when he is home I can come and meet him

No news yet, we went out for a couple of hours last night and spread the contents of the vacuum cleaner all the way home from where we think he is, my son went looking at 6am for an hour and I am going out again at midday then again this evening. My thinking is that if we keep on calling he will hear and recognise the familiarity and kind of get used to it again. In my darkest hour in the middle of the night I got to thinking this is yet another false lead and we're never going to see him again but I am trying to pull myself together and be positive again.

It's wonderful there is a nice person looking out for Fable as well. I wouldn't of found mine without the kindness of a family who held on to my flyer for 7 weeks and then eventually the 8th day of a cat trap being in their in garden.

If it's him and we do get him back I am going to write a blog as if Fable wrote it for every day that he was away - I have been picturing his antics and trying to keep him in mind in a positive way in a bid to psychically lure him home - yes I know I sound like a mat cat woman but I would go to the ends of the earth and back to have him home xoxo

:crossed:We have another sighting and as always I am a day behind with my intuition - this time I asked my son (half term) to go and leaflet a road that turns left off our road but in a completely different direction to where we have been getting sightings hence we hadn't got to that bit yet - within minutes of him running out of leaflets we got a call from a lady saying that a cat looking very like Fable (although it was dark) nosied through her patio door window last night or the night before (she can't be sure which). She noted that she hadn't seen him before and that he was a young looking cat, light tabby, white bib. I have just been round to her garden and sat in there for 30 minutes talking away to my son so if in the area he can hear us perhaps, although he's likely curled up sleeping somewhere - we have left his precious cuddly toy that he carries about with him on her back step where he was before together with a shirt of Lee's that Fable sleeps on sometimes. Also left a pouch of wet food (more stinky)and a bowl, and dried food as the lady says she will rattle it and try to get him in, she is going to call him every night for a while bless her. Here's praying to the patron saint of lost cats that it's Fable's turn to get found now xoxo

Dawn, the lady lives on Southfields Drive, technically Fable could get there from our house with only crossing one road.....please, please, please let it be him.....

Hi Dawn, many thanks for your offer, you can mail me at janina.diggins@btconnect.com if you want to take this off line re contact details etc. We have been leafleting and postering the "flower estate" (roads all named after flowers) at the back of us, Primrose Hill, where we live, Windmill Drive and Windmill Lane, Spurlands, Heath End, Margarets Grove, The Coppice, all of the farms. In total over 1500 posters - we have put posters on lamposts and poles throughout this area, have handed many to dog walkers on the Chiltern Way - Fable has been sighted, or at least people think they have seen him, throughout this area so we focussed our efforts there. Now we are targetting Brimmers and the off-shoot roads from there. We did put one in the co-op but the manageress was a bit off with me so not sure if she kept it up, the butcher's have one there for me too and the charity shop also agreed to display one.
We can use any help that is offered, I have lost 20lb in weight through worry and lack of sleep, we are depressed and our sole topic of conversation is Fable and where he may be. I realise I am not alone in losing a feline friend but this has never happened to me despite having owned rescue cats all of my life. We have three fur ladies at home who are all missing our poor little munchkin xoxo

As my 15 year old son is now on half term he is taking the search in a totally different direction to the one that we have focused on (based on sightings) No sightings since last Saturday at least none that sounded positive xoxo

You are right to take heart from stories such as Buddy's. Just a week or so ago we had another member's cat, Munki, be found after 4 months of being missing. Hope Fable finds his way home or is found soon

Hi All

It is coming up to 4 weeks now since Fable, my beautiful tabby/bengal cross went missing from our home in Widmer End, Bucks.

We have done absolutely everything that has been recommended by all of the forums and experts and still search daily for him.

We have had a couple of sightings placing him around a few houses and open farm land with woods and a myriad of footpaths, we have called and rattled food and taken favourite things of his hoping that the sightings are accurate and that he will respond to us.

As time goes on I am convinced someone is feeding him or that he has forgotten the sound of our voices.

I have read all the tales of the long lost cats on here, particulary that of Buddy and with some hope in my heart I have decided to make my own post, with the prayer that someone may find him and read this. Even though he is logged on every lost site we could find.
Someone cruelly mailed my husband this week telling him that his brother had our cat and that for 400 us dollars and our mobile phone number we would get him back. Stupid I know as we are in England and this was clearly a scam but how horrid can some people be?
So, to all of you cat lovers, many thanks for warming my heart with your various posts and threads and here's hoping that we get some good and positive news soon xoxo
