Zylkene - I can't praise it enough

Well, I bought some to try and I think I will give them to her on her evening meal, as that is closer to the normal time that she poops around the house.

TBH I am not holding out a great deal of hope as I am inclined to just give up at the mo.

The dosage is 24hr so it should build up and cover the cat the entire time, same as a glucosamine supplement would, they say to start the zylkene before expected stress so i wouldnt expect an instant change (from what i read in my box anyway!).

I saw no change at all when i gave zylkene and i gave it a fair trial of 3-4 weeks! I think alot of it can be the effect giving it to the cat does to the owner, a calmer owner = a calmer cat.

I don't think the effect lasts for much more than 4 hours or so Gillian but I think a more docile behavoviour can be encouraged if it's given over a matter of weeks.  I'm just so surprised that MM, Angie and now you noticed no difference as it was so noticeable with ours.

I've used it on Lacie and BB, I thought it might help their issues with each other - but didnt see any improvement, nor did I notice any difference in them while they were taking it. Things have actually improved between then in the few months since they stopped taking it - whether the effect was the Zylkene ultimately or just that they have become more tolerant of each other anyway, I don't know.  I'm inclined to think that they've just become more tolerant.

Just interested MM whether you noticed any effect at all as I've tried it on 4 of our 6 and it so obviously relaxed them all for about 3 or 4 hours with no noticeable adverse side effects.

It's not a prescription medicine (VOM) so it can be bought from online pet suppliers.

Its worth a try, but dont buy it from your vet

My boy Arty has been prescribed this today for his urinary tract problems. Hopefully it will relax him so he stops getting ill.

Have to say I'm a fan it is working wonders on my 2 feral kittens and has been used on a couple of the newbie ferals with great success

Zilch use on the doggy front - Jazz hates fireworks and it has zero results with her so she still comes upstairs and snores the night away in the shower room!

Here here.  Millie no longer suffering peeing probs following night on the roof.  She wason Zylkene for a week after trying everything else and seems to have stopped..... touching wood

My rescue ragdoll Delphi has had toiletting issues since I rescued her.

Extra litter trays didn't work. I tried numerous things to try and stop it as there was number 2's everywhere.

I started her on Zylkene and within days, she started using the litter trays more reliably.

I have to say thats an amazing thing knowing Delphi.

It's worth a try for behavioural issues that are not resloving with feliway etc.
