So pleased for you both returning to some form of normality  .

Hope Lexy's tummy feels better very soon.

Was going to ask about the latest plan but think for now it's enough to concentrate on enjoying cuddling time  :)

Wonderful and I am sure she is so happy  ;D

I was amazed at staples cos Kocka had about 10 of them after having a lump removed from her side, no collar and they came out without a wince even

We're back. Staples came out, no collar!!

I'm giving Lexy Pro-Kolin which is a probiotic so it should settle her tummy. She's currntly munching her chicken and will no doubt go for a wash in a minute.

Thanks.

Lexy can't take Lacto B, Gill, so that's not an option. I will, however, ask vet about other remedies that will settle her down.

Thank you.

We had a small accident this morning, stupid collar kept knocking her over so she had to get into tray a little at an angle. Being the mum I am I moved her into position. Sadly after she had a splodgy poop she lost her balance and sat in it...  So I was cleaning Lexy up, much to her consternation!

Vet visit tonight, I want this collar off now so my baby can have some dignity.

She's getting brave. Sits up like a meerkat to get my attention. Its so cute.  :Luv2:

 :thanks:

I now have a pic of lexy and Aunty T doing exercises together and seeing who can walk best first ;D

Oh dear... now i have that image too! :evillaugh:

We've had a good day today. I spent a good portion of it out and Lexy took all her meds. She wasn't keen last night, but I managed to get the Flagyl into her. She wasn't keen on other meds in treats.

Today madam had a good breakfast and then spent a lovely day snoozing in her bed.

We had another piddle accident, but I saw it happen so bed went straight into washing machine.

I bought her another square "donut" bed today, so I at least have one in use, one in wash and one drying. Blankets only last so long with Lexy before she trashes them :tired:

My sister came over for a quick snack after being out today with me, Lexy had a cuddle and now is washing her belly.

One thing I have noticed is that with the amount of strength she has to muster getting up each time, her tail is becoming nice and thick at the base, where it was thin before. Love thick tails :Luv2:

Lexy my sweet claw, Aunty T is gonna tell youz big secrets an it will make you laugh but will give you hope for quick recovery, them antibiotics were so bad that poot aunty t ad a nappy put on her for over a week in hospital cos everything went splat but her tummy is gud now so dont worry your tummy will soon get there, as for learning to walk aunty t still struggling badly too, so we take it slowly and carefully and we get there safely together. These fings take time

Poor little Lexy   Where did you get the flectabed, Ruth (you may have said already, but if so, I missed it)?

I got it at Pets At Home in the Dog section, Christine. There are cheaper online but I was there getting litter and thought it would be a nice rest pad for Lexy.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww Lexy you are looking as beautiful as ever and hope that you are able to walk soon  ;D

I am sure it will be the abs that are doing her tummy in Ruth and worth starting her on Lacto B, it can be used when they are still on Abs and Franta had it all the time he was last on marbocyl and he was much better tummywuse than the last time and he is now completely firm and off it after 6-7 months.

I hope what ever they do next will sort Lexy out but reckon it may be still a while before she can walk properly cos she will have a lot of muscle wastage

Lexy had a quieter night. She's had diarrhoea since she got home, we've now moved onto grilled chicken and a few loads of laundry to clean bedding.

Thankfully I have a vet bed that I had put into her pen last night as Lexy had a bit of an piddle accident on it. What a relief it was to have that as I hadn't noticed until after I had cooked our dinner. She's been pretty good as her poop has been done consistently in her tray so I could monitor it.

We had a little more this morning, and I had to encourage her to eat so she could take her meds. Thankfully this time round the poop was a small one so she didn't try to clean up in her bed and I caught it just after it happened. She tends to call for me if she needs a clean up..... now isn't that just like a princess  :naughty: :Luv2:

I spoke to surgeon yesterday about her instability and falling over. He said she won't make the leg worse at all. For now he wants to wait until the antibiotic regime is over (Monday) and then we book her in for her next surgery Monday 16th. It is heartbreaking seeing her try to walk. She manages a little and then she gets too tired so starts to flop over. She's spending a lot of time cleaning, so I guess that's normal after the collar being on for so long she can't clean as normal.

I've kept the collar on her only when I can't be with her in the room. So for the most part she's ok, just a little frustrated during the week. Next week, no collar and no staples so just rest without stress.

Here are a couple photos.

One last night having a well deserved clean (Paddy close your eyes, no gentleman should see this position)  ;)

And one this morning after another clean up, resting on her new Flectabed.

Morning

Paddy, your Roofiest Aunty sez  :thanks: it means the world to us.  :Luv2:

We had an ok night. I slept in the living room on the sofa so if Lexy needed me she could see my feet. She was fine until 3am where she meowed for Africa (:slap:  did not, yoo jus def  :shify: ) but settled down after a bit.

We were up at 5:30am as usual (did I mention I had not missed getting up that early this past week  :tired: ) and after getting Lexy's medication breakfast ready went for a cuddle. We took the buster collar off (why do they call them buster collars? Far as I recall, Teresa's Buster didn't have a cone head, it was a glorious snuzzle he had  :Luv2: - I digress) and had a good cuddle, Lexy ate all her dry food with her Metacam, but would not touch her wet as it had Flagyl (liquid antibiotic to combat bacteria) in it. Lexy also had her Synulox and her Xanax.

We then had a bit of exercise so that the leg is moving, it wasn't much but she just wanted to come sit in my lap. So we cuddled some more and I fed her a bits of wet food without the liquid.

Before work, on went the collar again and a syringe full of Flagyl down the throat and madam dozing off in front of Animal Planet and her heater.

I feel exhausted!
