Lexy has the TV on, is watching Animal Plant

Is that a sci-fi, like Day of the Triffids?

:Luv2: Thank you all so much.

Sue you can tell Paddy that Lexy was perkier this morning. Took her medication, ate her food (most of it) and after a brief wonder close to the pen, decided she needed to go to sleep.

I left her with Animal Planet and a snuggly.

I have to work today so I'm here in the office, knowing Lexy is warm and snuggly.

She's still quiet but that's to be expected.

Off to order more pill pockets and Zylkene. With this post strike no idea when things will get to me.

I was right to be sensitive to her mood.

The incision is fine but there is a possible infection in the knee.  Temp was normal but knee and around incision was too warm, and a gunky liquid was expressed from underneath. A swab of that has gone to be tested to confirm infection.

Lexy took a large dose of Marcobyl and has a course of those to take with the Synulox from tomorrow.

The knee is ok but the movement is abit loose for the vets liking. The movement she displayed this morning and at the vets could be as a result of an inflamation and a possibilty the muscles and ligaments together with the implants have stretched, which can happen as a result of two surgeries.

Worst case if it is an infection, the knee needs to be opened up again to remove the implants which won't help any infection clear up. If there is no infection then we will work to find a solution of therapy to help the muscles tighten up.

We got home and Lexy went to sleep. She's had a little chicken and is now dozing off again. We will return Monday morning to the vets for a follow up. Goal is to see if she's perked up and eating better and wants to move around.

It's impossible not to get paranoid when you watch your littly all the time for any changes or improvements. I think we all do when we are nursing like this and we notice any change and wonder about how significant or drastic it is. I hope you have nothing (more) to worry about and wish you all the best

I think I'm losing my mind.

I noticed last night Lexy was pretty keen to get back in her pen after eating a somewhat limited amount of food. She has to get out of the pen for a few minutes and she was fine, but her limp was pronounced.

This morning, took her AB without any issues (another miracle) would not let me pick her up for a cuddle (unheard of), at all her dry food with encouragement (which is never needed) left all her wet food (which she normally laps up). And the clincher. Her walk. Foot lands at same angle as before second surgery.  How on earth she could have displaced this all again is beyond me as her knee was stable when we came home. She's been in her pen continuously, no jumping, no running.

So we're back to the vets for an 11:15am appointment to check her out.

I'm starting to feel like the hypochondriac in my grandmothers village.

I hope I'm wrong and just being oversensitive to her every move. So fingers crossed.

let's now hope it stays that way (Lexy - take note please).

Lexy is trying her level best to get her way onight, so sh's back in he pen after a brief 5 minute spell out cuddling so I could see the incision. It's fine for now, she has been licking at it but not anything I'm too worried about. She's taking her antibiotics :wow: and that's a miracle in itself.

You can see just a little where the incision is on her leg. She was drinking some water so managed to nab this so I can see a difference if she bothers it.

Paddy, if you could have words nightly please? Lexy doesn't listen to me!

Well, she's home  ;D

Bandage has been licked off  :tired: but thankfully no external stitches this time. The wound is nicely secure and tidy. Since Lexy historically has not bothered with external stitches lets hope that she leaves things well alone. Vet agreed that a cat like Lexy, who will hurt herself to remove a buster collar, confined in a pen whilst she does, is not suitable for a collar at all. Not even a halfmoon collar.

She's comfortable and just getting her energy back. Eyes still dillated and drinking loads of water. I've given her some food which she inhaled.

I will post some pictures of the sorry looks I keep getting saying: "Let I OWT!"

Lexy has decided she will be posting on Aunty T's thread since she knows her mum has been worried about both of them.  My little muffin is home (again...  :tired:) :evillaugh:

So fingers crossed everyone, not sure I can handle another late night run to the vets with her.

 ;)
