 :thanks:

Lexy is resting in her new pen. She has a gorgeous fluffy blue donut bed and (oh the indignity) a kitten litter tray! She needed more room and she appears to be more relaxed than before.

Surgery is Friday 16th. Then another 6 weeks in the pen. So 10 weeks in total. I get the odd glare, but mostly lots of purrs when I pick her up and hold her for a while. She's happy for that and doens't fight me so all going well I won't be devil incarnate for much longer.

Am thinking of Teresa right now.

 :thanks: everyone.

I'm going to speak to Axa to ensure they have actually received the previous claims. Vet thinks that we can wait a week without major discomfort to Lexy to let her recover a little more from the last one before we put her heart through another GA too soon.

So probably next Friday. I'm booking it in today if I can.

We had a restful night, but Lexy was very wary of me yesterday evening, obviously it all came back to her that I had been one of the people to cause her fright during her examination. She hid from me.

We can only but wait now.

Probably Monday. Other surgeon (not the same one) does Friday's, Mondays and Thursdays so I'm going to aim to get her in Monday. I need her to be seen sooner rather than later. I won't have her in pain which she clearly is again.

 :thanks: everyone,

Yes it is Leanne. Rebuilding it once and now twice.  :(

Lexy was so docile this morning. Despite the surgery not working I have still left her in her pen as I don't want her to cause more damage before her surgery. She ate and then just limbered back into the pen without me asking.  :(

Sorry Ruth, At least she has another chance. Not nice but it really is a case of having to be cruel to be kind. At least she isn't going to be stuck in a cage when it's nice outside

Unfortunately its bad news. The surgery failed. Or something happened after that caused the ligament structure to break down. The knee is unstable which explains the uneven gait that Lexy has had this week. It means another surgery to repair and then complete pen rest, no time outs as advised before to exercise the knee. We had to sedate Lexy again so she's sleeping it off in her pen. It's cheaper for me to buy my own pen then rent this one out weekly so this weekend I'll get my own and take this one back to the vet.  I'll keep the pen for a while and then donate it to a rescue. Probably not the things to be thinking of but am trying not to focus on the fact that Lexy will once again, as the cold weather starts to set in, be confined. I know cats can do it, and have done, look at Monica and Puma.

I just don't understand when she had her other knee surgeries to tighten the ligaments, she wasn't required to be confined and she recovered perfectly fine. Now with tearing her ligament, with similar sutures inside her knee, she has to be confined and does her very best to escape at any given time and has no doubt stretched too far and probably broken down the sutures.

I'm so upset. I'll know tomorrow when the next surgery will happen.
