A Lexy Diary (transcribed in hoomanspeak by slave):

Day One
After many cat days of being prodded by people who thrill in torture, I have returned. To prison.

Guard
Mother is faffing a bit, frankly she should just put her head in the oven for all the good she does me. I slept in my cell, on my blanket, my toilet just a paws throw away, and a bowl of water. It's incatmane I tell you.  >:(

I am told my sentence is 10 cat weeks.  Guard I attempted my escape, unsuccessfully this morning, and have now been returned to my cell. It appears my claw and fangs are not deterrents.

I'm off to dream of Paddy. And plot my next escape.

That's true and Monica coped in a pen smaller than the cage. It just seems so tiny and Lexy is not happy right now.

Oh bring on tomorrow, I think me being home makes it more difficult so when I'm at work she can snooze away with the kitty dvd playing for her to keep her entertained.

Well, we're home. Journey got a bit bumpy but no grumbles.

Madam is in her cage and has gone to eat some of her food, she's clearly ravenous. She's not very happy with me and can't seem to understand why she can't come out to join me and it appears is plotting ways to get out.

Suffice it to say, I am relieved she's home. Two weeks in the cage though  :( with only limited time out with me, lap time that I can extend slowly but only after the two weeks. 3 weeks more like and then another 3 with limited movement.

Oh, and Paddy, Lexy has another fetching blue banduj for you ;)

Lexy is still at the vets, I'm collecting her later.

She has to have crate rest for a few weeks  :( but it's for the best.

I visited this moring as was allowed to spend some time with her. A little grumpy but mostly just scared.  :(

It was a terribly long day.

My friend Jess is so great. I was on the phone talking to Axa when they asked me what breed she is, so I said (stupidly) "a cat". And immediately Jess said "miaow". I found that so hysterically funny the poor man from Axa must have thought he had a nutter on the phone. If it wasn't for Jess the day would have been unbearable. That and coming on and reading about Garcia and the Sir Alots.  :Luv:

Got home and missed her calling for me, our "hello" cuddle. And am now sitting eating my dinner and feel terribly guilty as I never eat without Lexy getting her meal first.

 :thanks:

Due to a few emergencies at the surgery Lexy didn't get put under under 5:30pm. She has now only started to come out of it and she's in recovery. By the time she's ok to be seen by me it will be too late, so I will wait until morning to call up and find out if she can come home.

Vet said surgery went well, all repaired though due to her previous issues in her knees she does have some arthritis so we will need to get her to lose weight more rigorously than before.  She's been a gem for them (apparently) though my friend Jess told me today (in an attempt to get me out of my funk) that Lexy had probably spent the day plotting my demise.  :)

So, thank you all so much for your thoughts and good vibes, really do appreciate it. My mind has been a bit muddled today

Thank you xxx

The trip to the vets with a cat scared as Lexy is a real ordeal and I swear it takes more out of the owner than the cat!

I am sure she will be fine and everything will go well. Its at times like these that although we know how much we love our little friends, it becomes clear that we are inseperable

 :thanks: everyone  :Luv:

I got madam to the vets a little late due to terrible traffic, so the journey was a little difficult as Lexy was, naturally, wary of all the cyclist wizzing past the car.

When we got to the vet, there was a large lorry outside that banged their door so Lexy huddled into the corner of the carrier into a little ball. You know that complete trance they get into when they try to make themselves invisible? Well that's what Lexy did.

I checked her in, and I was fine until the nurse started asking me all sorts of questions about thinks Lexy liked and didn't like (food/cuddles etc) and then I just burst into tears. Lexy refused to look at me she was so fixated on the corner of the carrier.  :'( I told her I loved her and then left, cried all the way to work.

I know it's just a knee op, I know she's done this before. It's me that's ruining the soles of my shoes ( :thanks: Teresa, you reminded me I am human  ) worrying about her.

Anyway, nurse told me I can visit her tonight, so will stop over for as long as they let me.

Bring on the evening, I want to see my little girl.
