Well not suh great news. Lexy has had to stay an extra night. As they were prepping her to come home they noticed that her wound was bleeding and it was fairly swollen.

The swelling is normal but they want to keep an eye on the bleeding.

I got to visit with her so when we opened the door I leaned in and Lexy shuffled over to me and practically crawled into my arms. Something she never does.

We had a good natter and she purred for me. On her best behaviour as usual.

I am just trying to get the image of my baby's spotlessly white paw all bloody where the blood dripped.

So one more night. I couldn't stomach going home to an empty house so came to Bucks to my sisters and to be fussed by Pippa Pipsqueak.

:-:

Paddy I hope you're eating

I'm always cautiously optimistic if a problem is immediately obvious and has an obvious solution.   :crossed:

Well, just had a call from vet.

The surgery went well, Lexy was just waking up and was an electric blanket getting cuddles from the nurses. Apparently she's been a little charmer for them :Luv2:

When they opened they saw the problem. The nylon sutures they use had been snapped. The little tube they use to tie the sutures to had moved and cut through the sutures. The leg was all over the place. Vet said that she could move the leg in any direction freely due to that. As this rarely happens what she did was repair the damage, and used a different type of nylon suture, and did it twice! All cleaned up and sewn up. Knee is solid and so is leg.

I can call later to see how Lexy is doing, and then can go pick her up at midday tomorrow.

Fingers crossed people!! My baby is ok!!!

Just got home after dropping Lexy off. She's going to get a more robust surgery to make sure we get this right this time.

Lexy was fine, a bit quiet, but that was expected. I will hear by 2pm. Thanks everyone for your well wishes.
