PURRS CAT SHOW 2007AimTo raise as much money for Minimopsical as possible and to have loads of fun doing it. To get as many people on Purrs involved as we can.
How the show will workThis is a catless cat show, not a photo competition and any
living cat can enter as long as the cat’s owner or carer makes the entry. Entry will be by photograph and it does not matter who took them but they must show the cat at the right age for the class they are entering. If someone else took the picture please obtain their permission before using it.
The show will be divided into loads of classes and cats can enter as many classes as they want as long as that class is appropriate, as we will not allow a cat to be entered in a wrong class. A different photo of a cat can be submitted for each class entered but a cat can only enter a class once. You can enter as many cats as you want as long as you are the current owner or carer.
In age classes the age must be current on 1 July 2007 ie you cannot enter a kitten in the kitten class if it is one year old or older.
Format and datesCats will go into classes for the first round of the show and then the classes will be put into groups for the second stage of the show. The winners of each class will move into the group stage judged to be against each other. The winners of each group will move forward into the final round to find the top pedigree and top non-pedigree. These two champion cats will then go head to head for top cat.
A list of the classes is at the end of this document together with the dates for entry, judging etc,
JudgingJudging for the classes, groups and top pedigree and top non-pedigree will be done by the members of Purrs through a poll system set up for you. Every Purrs member will be allowed three votes in each class and group, one vote that can be used to vote for your own cat if you wish. In the event of a tie there will be a panel of 10 judges, from which 5 will be selected to determine a winner. The panel are members of Purrs and no judge will be involved in judging a tie involving their own cat and a different 5 judges will be used for each tie.
The Purrs Top Cat will be judged by Colonel Beau from Cat Chat Towers but if one of the Cat Chat cats get into the final, a reserve judge knowledgeable about cat shows has been selected because of course we would not want a biased judge, would we?
CanvassingIn the week before the show opens we will allow official canvassing by cat owners or carers to gain votes for their cats. This will be in one thread only set up for this purpose but posts must be in words only as no pictures will be allowed. Any post that contains pictures will be immediately deleted and the person warned. There must be no offensive posts as this is a special privilege to promote your cat. No other canvassing is allowed on threads, PMs, emails Chat etc and anyone discovered to be acting outside the spirit of this rule will have all their cats banned from the show and entrance money will not be refunded.
How to enterEntry will be using the official entry form below and the entrance fee will be £1 per photo per class. A photo or photos must be submitted with the entry form and emailed to
kat@tornadothematics.co.uk the Cat Show moderator for the relevant class, as per this link
http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/index.php?topic=3767.msg58322#msg58322. Entry money must be sent before the entry closing date to Purr's Paypal account Purrs@chaptan.co.uk or by cheque or bank transfer (contact Tan or Gill for details).
It would be very much appreciated if entries could be sent in as early as possible after the opening date and if you can resize your pictures, please make the longest side 500 pixels. Obviously it is better to have larger pictures that everyone can see so please do not submit mini pictures as we can resize all pictures for the show. Please label the pictures with name of the cat and the class it is being entered in, so there is no mistake
