Probably for the same reasons - a lot of them contain essential oils which contain phenols. I think there may be other issues such as the smell being too strong for cats.

The cat recovered herself - it was the smell on her tail told the owner the story  :shy:

She's not in UK. There is not any reliable local vet in her place. That's why she did it that way  :shy:

OK - no problem - I would "have kittens" if one of mine blew up like that overnight. I'm glad the cat is OK. It looks like some kind of Analytic shock which can be fatal  :scared:

True. To my knowledge about the vets situation in her country, the last thing I would do is to take my cat to the vet!!
They do nothing but grabing money from your pocket. And I know most of them are using unauthorized "tricat" vaccinations on cats. They simply don't care.

A friend of mine has a cat and one day she woke up found the cat got swollen up in one night - almost changed completely to another cat. But apart from the looking the cat was still eating and drinking as normal. She was rather worried and posted the cat's photo on a local forum to seek advice and help.

At the end of the day she found out the reason - the cat climbed up to her table with tale brushed onto her aromatic burner. There was just several drops of diluted essential oils in it and the cat didn't go for it. But it inevitably ate some while cleaning the tale......So the essential oil sort of poisoned the cat .....

The cat got over it the next day as she didn't have many and the oil was diluted. But that gave her a big heart attack...

As I know aromatic products are quite common and popular here, I think it might worth mentioning to all cat owners....
