Well I'm not so sure they would have been concerned about a moggy, but a £500 kitten was obviously a different matter.  :sneaky: This is a slightly upmarket farm, though. All organic if you know what I mean. They do Asparagus in the spring and have a little shop in the farm yard. When I went in there this year they were celebrating as they'd just got the contract to supply Asparagus to The Savoy in London.  ;)

OH has said he's doing Broccoli and Stilton soup for dinner tonight.  :naughty:

WOW well done you, i'm glad kittys back home safe, i'm also very pleased to hear that a farmer was so worried about a pedigree cat, round here some farmers are still under the impression that a cat is a rat catcher and nowt else, not even allowed in the house

;D i was doing my weekly shop in tescos at 1.30 this morning so your not the only one
i have as much to learn as i have to teach

You could make soup, that would use a lot of broccoli

See, that little kitten was calling to you and knew your insatiable need for tea would force you out of the house and to her rescue! :wow:

Great story though, I mean really, what are the chances. I'd probably still be there 16 hours later, I'm not very good at giving off the I don't give a damn whether you come back or not vibes :evillaugh:

I'm still amazed.  :evillaugh:

When they flagged me down it was because kitten was laying in the road ahead and they were going to ask me if I'd mind turning round and going the other way to get up to the Thanet Way. I felt like sweeping them aside and saying "Stand back! I'm a cat trapper.."

Anyone got any recipes for broccoli?  :shy: :shify:

What are the chances of this?

I'm having one of those nights where I can't sleep and fancied a cuppa. Went to the fridge for the milk and realised if I used it, there wouldn't be enough for my morning cuppa.  Nothing for it but to jump in the car and go up to the garage. Time was about 1am.  :tired:

The short cut to the garage is along several back water country lanes. After around 10pm nothing goes through them - maybe the odd fox after a rabbit.  :evillaugh: Anyway, around a particular bend I see several torches swinging about. I slow down and this bloke walks up and flags me to stop.  :shify: They are from the farm up the road, he says. Their  :censored: of a teenage son left the window open and their new kitten - a £500 Siamese - has escaped. They have only had this kitten 3 days.  :( They immediately took off after kitten but kitten is scared and is evading them. They can tempt it with food but each time get near, kitten takes off again. They have been trying for six hours to catch her. Kitten is scared, hungry and tired.  :tired: Guess who has 2 cat traps in the boot!

Pinkbear catches kitten in less than 10 minutes and wins eternal gratitude of farmer's wife. Pinkbear comes home with a litre of milk from the farmer's fridge, a dozen free range eggs, a sack of spuds and enough broccoli to feed the isle of Thanet.

Now try finding a cat trapper at 1am and see how far you get.  :innocent: :evillaugh:
