Let's hope she's not pregnant.  I am not going to take her to the Vet just yet, I want her to calm down a little with the kittens, she's been through quite a bit and, anyway, the vets can't do anything at the moment whilst she is still feeding the babies so nothing will be gained with upsetting her just now.

Her kittens are settlingm in quite well, they were very hissy and spitty to start with but a couple of them are already searching us out for play when we go and see them.  I think they are all females, so the black ones, who are all identical are Tic, Tac, and Toe.  No name for the little black and white girl yet.

That was the case with a cat I trapped Leslie she looked very much pregnant again but thankfully she turned out not to be she was just a very odd shape - so hopefully the same with Francesca xx

I have just moved mum, who has now been named Francesca by the girls in my road, and now I have been able to examine her a bit more, she seems to be a bit on the round side to me, and it's not as if she is full of milk :shify:.  Babies are approximately 4/6 weeks old so it is easily feasible that she could be about a month pregnant I think.  Will take some photos when she has settled some more and see if I can show her "roundness".  She is quite a petite tortie but already seems "triangular" to me. :(

I am pleased to report that mum was easily caught in a basket this evening by the resident of the house and is now happily reunited with her babies, who have probably milked her dry this evening :Luv2:.

All of them seem really happy to be back together.  They are in a pen in the kitchen at the moment to get re-acquainted but will move to the spare room tomorrow when I have cleared it.  Will hopefull get some photos of them then.

Good luck for catching mum :luck:
What colours are her offspring?

Now this is me you're asking, so everyone should know we have three blacks and one black and white!!!!!!!!     Don't ask what sex yet, as I have not been able to look.  They are quite stressed and although they spit and hiss at me as soon as I give them a stroke you can feel them lean into it, but still hissing and spitting.  The three black ones really stick together whereas the black and white one is a bit smaller and a bit of a loner.  That one didn't want to eat solids so he/she had some cimicat from the bottle this morning.  The others like to make out they don't want to eat until you pass them one chunk of kitten food and then they take it from you.  Okay, if you have four hours to spare feeding one litter of kittens.

it never ever fails hun.  Glad you managed to get the little ones and good luck for mum.

Funny how things like this always happen when you are 'planning' or 'organising' just to set the wind in your sails again and send you off course!

Managed to get the kittens but mum was a bit more elusive.  Didn't want to leave them all there in case mum decided to move kittens and we couldn't finmd them again and they are of an age when they are eating solids, so they are ensconced in the kitten pen.

Will try again tomorrow for mum, the householder can get near her but she just escaped the last lunge into the basket today.  If no luck on the softly softly approach tomorrow I will set the trap and hope to get her that way.  She is a stunning dark tortie and was seen a couple of months ago with a ginger kitten so this is her second litter this year.

I could probably meet you there if you like, apparently mum is approachable but I don't want to look a complete plank trying to catch the kittens!!

PM me if you want to meet up.

Five minutes after agreeing to take in the cat from the PDSA, a call from a lady in Southsea who has a tortie mum and kittens living in her back garden, which is terrorising her own cats so she can't keep there.

Looks like all the stuff I took up to the spare room last night to organise for the car boot next weekend will have to come out to make room for mum and kittens and the tortie from the PDSA will have to go in the kitten pen.

So, unfortunately, we are full again.
