Hi Everyone,

Just a little update to say that (fingers crossed) Nina seems a lot better today  ;D Without getting my hopes up she just looks a bit thin and tired but she is pottering about chirruping and rolled over for a tummy rub earlier. Eating plenty and using the tray no problems.  :Luv: So we will see what Catherine the vet says tomorrow evening.

Does anybody have any tips how we can get her nice and clean again from where she wee-ed on herself yesterday? Have wiped her down but she is still a bit smelly, can I just use sensitive shampoo?

I don't think you can use human shampoos, fragrance free baby wipes should do the job  :)

I wonder if she had a reaction to the Marbocil?

She hadn't had it Des, that's the mystery?

Had a pretty restless night, she was still holding her head to one side and walked into a few things but she has had her next dose of meds (Thanks to her dad) and is much brighter this morning  ;D She even struggled when Jon was trying to pill her this morning  :evillaugh:

Have installed her in the spare bedroom with some nice comfy blankets and she was purring away when I left this morning which was a relief to hear. Oh, and she has used the litter tray

God bless Gibson he keeps trying to clean her which isn't going down too well, a little cuddle she will tolerate, a cleaning not so much.  :evillaugh:

Does anybody have any tips how we can get her nice and clean again from where she wee-ed on herself yesterday? Have wiped her down but she is still a bit smelly, can I just use sensitive shampoo?

having those two weeks off is going to help such a lot, as you will be able to concentrate on Nina without worrying about work

Thanks everyone  :thanks:

Well her bloods showed increased liver enzymes and white blood cells, she has been given more antibiotics ( amoxycare 10mg) and some Hepatocyl and is going back to the vets on Friday. The vets feeling is that she doesn't want to open Nina up to have a look at her liver at present and I agree, so we will see how the tablets go and take it day by day.

She is still very dazed and confused and struggling to get about, she has also wee-ed in the carrier so is very smelly at present. Jon has just given her the medication and I think we are going to try and clean her down in a bit. Just don't want to stress her out too much so am just putting throws down for her to sleep on which are easily washed. And will have a busy few days sponging the couch down I think.

She is just having some tea (Ocean Fish Applaws) and having a cuddle with Gibson (which is v.strange!) but is purring away and trying to have a little wash

Am going to sleep in the spare room with her tonight to make sure she is ok, and am only in work for a few hours tomorrow then by coincidence am at home for nearly 2 weeks on annual leave.

Will keep you all updated, thanks for all the support, it is very much appreciated.

Just in jon's car on the way to pick my baby girl up. It's definately something to do with her liver function. I'll do a full post when I get home.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone  :thanks:

I take it that your boss doesnt consider cats as family  >:(

Obviously not, and what makes me laugh is that he has a dog so I thought he would understand. Unfortunately I think if it had been Gibson (God forbid) he might have had a different response.  :'(

Ems hun, do you have to stay in work today?

Well I was half an hour late (I had left a message and explained i was going to the vets) and my boss was on the phone saying it was essential I was in to meet up with him at 12  :tired: Just what I need.  :(

I knew she was feeling very poorly when she didn't serenade me all the way to the vets in the car  :-[

Ems hun, do you have to stay in work today?  Saying that though, maybe being at work will make the time  until you hear from the vets go a bit quicker and help take your mind of your worry a tiny bit

Hopefully they'll be able to work out quickly what is going on.

I feel for you hunnie, topping up with tons more positive vibes for you both  xxxxx

It's a good job I took her in straight away this morning as she was worse again when we got the vets, she can't stand up now  :(

They are keeping her in today and doing bloods screens today and giving me a call later, they have said it is either kidney/liver function or neurological  :'(

Will update when I know more, am so upset in work now  :(
