licking lips must be nausea, which sounds like why she's not wanting to eat at all. I'm so sorry. Those creatinine and urea values aren't that high. Is she constipated? You could try lactulose. I also find letting mine eat a bit of green plant (grass or spider plant) helps them with mild nausea. Would your vet allow pepcid for stomach acid? Some people swear by Slippery elm bark too.
i/d is (I think) 0.8g per 100g of phosphorus which is not low but not as high as normal cat food either. My vet likes ipakitine although it is from crustaceans so you have to watch calcium values. Renalzin can apparently be sprayed in the mouth (haven't tried yet but will have to with Max). The other way he said was or was to put the binder powder into a gelcap and give it at the same time as the food. Sorry if you've posted here, but what is her phosphate level as if it's still normal you may not need to use a binder yet as the binders do tend to make IBD worse. Swampy's had IBD since he had liver disease and the only thing that helps is lactulose and fluid.
I hope she feels less sick soon and starts eating. The vicious circle is sometimes when they feel just a bit nauseous (not as bad as she does) giving a little assist feed gets them feeling better so they eat on their own.
Have you tried something totally bland like plain chicken or chicken broth (no garlic or onions)?
Thanks Kate, for the information. No she is not constipated , she goes out few times a day and eat loads of grass.
Phoebe doesn't eat her food if i add anything i had her SEB and gave it away , her Phos level is 1.70 which the vet said its fine.
Her IBD is worse than her CRF at the moment, thanks i didn't know binder makes IBD worse , i had a chat with the vet today and told him i am not using the binder i ordered, he didn't know they make IBD worse!?
The problem with Phoebe is she is very difficult cat i cant touch her or get any food or med to her unless its hidden in row meat even that she taste it and spit it some times i waste many tablets till i get one to her, as for assist feeding i do take the food to her and sit but if i try to feed her with spoon or my hand she attacks, (my hands are covered in scratch and bites) and then get annoyed and leaves, so basically i stress her by trying to help, its very difficult situation .
The thing is she does drink a lot and has put on 700 grams since March which is good but right now i need to get her to eat so she takes her med. Thanks again for your advice and i am so glad Max is eating and a bit better, i do follow his tread . xx
