Hello Miriam (hug)
You are new and you have made 33 posts!
lol.
Missy hasn't panted since I first posted.
I haven't noticed her do so anyway.
So, perhaps I was panicing (that spelling doesn't look right) for nothing.

Mia .... once you get into following a few threads you'll soon realise it's very easy to get carried away and you'll post count will shoot up! LOL (This is a very addicitive site).

Glad to hear the panting has stopped .... it probably was just the stress of going to the vet.

:welcome: to Purrs, Mia: glad you found us and decided to join.

Little Missy probably has nothing going on to worry about, but a vet visit asap will rule that out - or enable you to sort it out, whatever it is

Keep us posted anyway...

Hi ya Mia  :welcome: to Purrs

Missy is gorgeous  :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:

With regards to the panting ... if you noticed this while she was in the carrier on the way to the vet it is probablly stress related ... as she worked herself into a state but as others have said it is always worth having them checked out :)

 :welcome: to Purrs Mia

Missy is absolutely gorgeous, glad that she has been spayed now as she is just a baby herself

As Yvonne says cats rarely pant so I would definitely recommend a vet visit, panting in the car could have been due to fear/getting herself worked up and if she had been racing around that could explain the garden panting episode but as you have noticed it twice in two different scenarios I would definitely get her checked over.

I gotta say I feel an idiot for misspelling HIYA!  I cannot even change it.

I thought your title was text speak for Hiya  :evillaugh: You can change it if you wanted to, just click on 'modify' on your first post and you can type whatever you want in the title.

Glad you've found us thpugh, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.  It really is a very friendly forum with lots of friendly helpful advice, if ever needed, and of course lots of fun.  I do feel it my public duty to warn you though that it can be a teensy bit addictive  You have been warned  :evillaugh:

 :welcome: to Purrs.... :)

Missy is beautiful, so glad that the vet decided that was the best option as the little doll would of been so young to be a mum cat!  ;)

Maybe getting her insured would be a good thing for you all!  ;D

Hope the panting is nothing, could even be heat related but you would be best to get it checked out just to be on the safe side! Good Luck!

Hello Yvonne (hug)
Thank you for replying so quickly.
I gotta say I feel an idiot for misspelling HIYA!
I cannot even change it.

Missy had the kittens taken away, a full hysterectomy. on July 2nd.
She had the stitches taken out 11 days later.

The first time we (daughter and I) noticed her panting was when she was in her carrier on the way to the vets.
The next time was when she came flying in from the garden.
So, I thought it was fear.
Now I not so sure.

Perhaps it is asthma/hayfever.

Apart from that, she is a happy, healthy cat.

Looks like another vet visit.
I wish it was on the National Health lol

Hello Miarose and  :welcome: to Purrs

I am really pleased that you have given Missy a home - how far pregnant is she, do you know?

What did the Vet say regarding her pregnancy?

Cats do not usually pant very much, it is possible after heavy play or they sometimes pant when in labour.  My Spotty pants a little but he is asthmatic.

Does she generally seem healthy otherwise?

Hi, my name is mia and I am new to cats, well I was lol
I adopted Missy.
A friend had taken on a pregnant queen and Missy was one of her three kittens.
I didn't have her til she was 4 1/2 months old, then found she was pregnant!!
She was so tired, hungry and lifeless, I took her to the vet.
Now she is doing all the 'kitteny' things.

But, I am worried, she keeps panting.
At first I thought it was cos she was frightened, but, now I not so sure .....

Any advice or whatever would be gratefully received.

Missy is now 5 calender months old.
