These collars are going to be £3.99 apparently - but they are still not in manufacture, should be soon, according to the email.  :)

I've seen them before - probably on Purrs. I quite liked the look of them.

I have two indoor cats who are chipped but not collared, because I had my doubts about the safety of collars.
However these did look safe, and hopefully adaptable - my two are Singapuras with quite small necks; I sometimes agonise over whether I should collar my boys in case they unexpectedly end up outside, or escape en route to vets etc.

However I did get fed up with the fact that though I checked back over a period of time, the site never seemed to get any further forward, or the collars become available for sale.

ie would they be too close fitting to rub off fur?

I doubt they are tight - I'm sure they will get lost easily. Hopefully they are cheap  :evillaugh:

I'm not a collar fan but if people insist on collars, these are poles apart from dangerous buckled or elasticated ones  :)

I never thought I'd read that written by you on a collar thread, Ela.

I have shocked myself,  ;D of course it will be interesting to hear the results when a few folks have tried them.

I've been in touch with the guy a few times to try and persuade him to send me one ..... to no avail to date, must send another email. I missed his bit - did they say how much he was looking for?

I agree Ela.  I just need to feel one before I'm fully swayed.  I'm all for a collar that is really is 100% safe.

How do ya reckon they work then.  They look one size would they loop round the neck more than once? and if so if cat paw got into collar trying to pull off pulling twice the wrap round would it come off?  or are they in diff lenths to only go round neck once and a bit where in that case it would be totally safe from getting caught.

Not sure what you mean Tan   :shy:  Do you think perhaps that wrapping around neck fully twice might allow cat to get paw caught in it somehow?

I think I'll try one of these when they are available on Milly and see what happens. If a cat can remove one, she'll do it.

Also wonder if these may be small enough for cats under 6 months to use?  Our two girls are so slim, even though they are soon 8 months, the collars are still a bit loose so not wearing them atm.

I think they wrap around more than once, a cat would need really long legs to be able to pull it off I'd have thought?

I wonder how tight they are round neck and would they cause fur to come off underneath?

All praise to the guy who is trying to solve the dangerous collar problem  ;D

I've seen them before and thought they were pretty good. :) They were rejected on Dragons Den? Idiots!

He says on the website "If you have arrived on this site as a result of seeing me on Dragon's Den, it was all worthwhile" - Rather him have 100% control with lower sales than being bled dry by a dragon for a large chunk of equity?

folks you heard it here first!

I mentioned then after seeing them on display at the Glee thing either last year or the year before.
I thought they were very good - apart from definately not getting tangled they would never need adjusting so no more tight collars!

They have another website that mentions dragons den http://happycatcollars.co.uk/

Seems they are not available yet. OH & I were only saying this morning that a lot of people go on the show knowing they won't get investment but will get some exposure - It seems that is what they were after.

I have given up on collars, Trouble loses his within a day, Cassies long fur gets bald under them. They are both 'chipped.

I saw it and I've seen it somewhere before. Not sure it it's ever been mentioned on purrs before or if I saw it somewhere else.

It basically springs into a loop. If it gets caught, it just stretches apart. Probably as good as a breakaway collar. I forget how much thye wanted but it was rejected. I think it was called the "Happy Cat" collar.

Edit -just found it - no price though. http://happycatcollars.com/discription.html
