ok... for the 2nd time..... (got timed out) <sigh>
Hi folks, well we are just back from the vets with Joey.
It was a different vet that saw Joey today and we had a very hard time convincing her that he had improved despite his hellish (her words) appearance.
We accept that he does still look very bad but we also know that he is 100 times better than he was 2 weeks ago. This vets first reaction was PTS however when we explained our viewpoint and the fact that he has improved 100% from what he was she has agreed that it is fair to give him a little more time and a repeat of his steroid and ab's and see what this holds for Joey.
On examination she did find what felt like growths in his abdomen which could be tumours and could relate to liver and or kidney problems. Likewise the infection in his feet could relate to liver issues.
We are in a real quandry at the moment as this is such a difficult case to deal with. Joey is full of fight loving his attention, eating pretty well and as bright as a button but is he suffering under all that? are we doing the right thing giving him an extra chance and time and drugs? or should we have just made the decision and PTS today because even if he does pull through any life he will have will be shortlived. We feel very torn over today's decision.
We only want to do what is right and fair for Joey and whilst we know he has improved .....to others he still looks exceptionally bad.
