Go for it.  I always said that two was the max but when I was asked to take Smartie I thought how much more effort can it be.   Its none.  As long as you can afford vet bills, food etc and there is no world war when you introduce them then three is as easy a number to have as two.

Can't you foster him and see how it goes then once he has his paws under your table mission accomplished!

We are at 41 currently so know how your friend feels - we don't have pens just guest bedrooms with ensuites!!!!!!!

The failed fosterer one? Ha, I couldn't cope with fostering! Ramsay was abandoned by an 'interesting' household. Ashfield Cats said they'd happily take him but they are so snowed under with kittens that I called in a favour from an extremely failed fosterer. In fact a failed rescue! She has 42 lovely cats, each as well cared for as the other   . She doesn't rehome now but keeps a pen or two free for cases like this.

If you have a peek in the Lost and Found section you will spy that I rescued a rather...um....skanky persian the other week. He got out of his pen but has now been trapped. He will shortly be snipped and salonified to make him purrfect again.


I have become so obsessive about finding him and missed him so much that there's a little part of me that wants to keep him forever and ever. He's used to being left out with no love. My two are housecats and Smokey was from a similar background but adjusted well.

I have a 2-bed starter-home-style mid-terraced house. I always swore I'd keep no more than two cats but this one has really got to both me and OH. Even he's finding it hard to say no but is far more sensible than me.

He hates cat-related smells and accidents so the deal has always been that they are kept immaculately. Would a third cat make much difference do you think?

Or should I rehome him?
