I have bought beds before ( there is about 20 in this house -honestly -between 5 cats ).
I found sometimes they ignore it and when you least expect it they will go in  it .
Mine do that and then its the favourite for a few weeks then they move on to another one .
They stick with the same ones in winter as they know which has the heated pads in   - although 3 are still switched on -and slept in at night !!!

Sorry, but

I learnt the hard way. Cats don't sleep in their own beds. Memphis sleeps on chairs, human beds, dog beds, in dog crates but never ever in/on the lovely specifically bought cat beds!! He just sleeps wherever he wants. He pretty much always sleeps with/on me at night as well. If I'm too fidgety he moves to my dressing gown. I never see him in his 2 beds which are on my bedroom floor taking up space.

lay me down, let me go, feeling heavy the ground is cold,
lay me down take it slow I'm ready to stumble, sing & then swing low

You have learnt an important cat rule, they sleep on the biggest bed  :evillaugh: hes doing well with his human training  :wow:

Treats, theres so many to choose from, my lots naughty treats are webbox sticks and whiskas temptations, good treats are raw or cooked chicken, beef, fish etc

Some nice treats inside it, hes probably too young to repond to catnip, alternatively put it somewhere you dont want him getting in it  :evillaugh:

I didn't realise Catnip addiction had an age limit!  :)

I haven't ever considered giving him treats before, any you recommend??

At night mouse has been sleeping on our bed, should we let him do this? Our dogs are not allowed on the beds, but cats are different... cleaner!! :)

Mouse is refusing to use it, any ideas on how I can encourage him to use it, I dont want it to go to waste.

Welcome to the world of cats  :evillaugh: I have several (expensive, cool and stylish) beds which are studiously ignored  :snooty: As soon as I decide to get rid of them they start sleeping in them (very briefly) to stop me!

catnip might work or is there a blanket or anything that has your/his smell on that you could put on it to beginwith to tempt him to snuggle up?

I had a Cleo hide and seek scratcher, which I bought for Mouse the day we got him, it lasted all of 4 weeks before it fell apart! So I contacted Cleo to complain and they were great and sent me a replacement. They also did me a good deal on their Duffle Bag Bed, which I have had my eye on for some time!
But Mouse is refusing to use it, any ideas on how I can encourage him to use it, I dont want it to go to waste.
I was thinking about sprinkling some catnip inside the cushion  :-:
