It went really well, thanks Tan! The weather was brilliant-i actually got sunburnt, after we'd had torrential rain on and off the day before when we were trying to set up!  There are SO many beautiful  cats and in the kitten block........oooooohhh!  :Luv2: Lots of mums and kittens in the maternity block, one of which reduced me to tears-a torti with FIVE babies, gingers and blacks.  :Luv2: She came up to the mesh and meeowed as if to say 'please take me with you' Heartbreaking  :'(
I took a short, very wobbly video (i was on my knees and am decrepit  ) of another couple of babies in there-their mum wasn't worried and was having a wash  :Luv2:
I met a couple of CC ladies (one of whom i'd missed by a few feet last year-she'd seen 'Shirley' on my name tag but didn't like to ask, so this time i put my surname on as well! She's taken a photo in the Paddocks and my legs are on the photo
I was hoping to meet Gail and Rosella from Purrs, but don't know if they went?

BTW Mr & Mrs CDS were there-they said they'd come hoping i'd be there to get an update on Charlie!  ;D

Well it was a great day yesterday! The weather was really nice so loads of people turned up! Hope they made lots of money for the pussies but, more importantly, had a lot of interest in rehoming the gorgeous cats there!
I'm shattered cos i was there 2 days, am old and a physical wreck, but i enjoyed it! Roll on next year!

That's what i thought, but some of them have been there so long now and are used to the girls feeding them and cleaning out the pens. One or two of them have been tried in a home environment, but had to be returned cos they go mental! I've very often walked through the paddock with half a dozen of them following me (feel like the Pied Piper) and wanting fuss!

Hi , just had a call from Janet at Cramar today to ask me to put something on here to ask if anyone would like to become a 'member' of Cramar.
Send an SAE to Janet Blanch c/o Cramar Cat rescue, Hopwood Road, Birmingham, B48 7TW. It costs £9 per year for a household, £7.50 per adult or £4 for pensioners. If you want a twice yearly newsletter, that's a £1 one off charge. Please help , everyone.

Hi Jasmine, i CAN be a volunteer on open day-yaaaaaaah!!!

I'm going to ask if they need another pair of hands anyway. I've been there so many times this year and all i do is stroke the cats while the girls are working away! Feel guilty! So i might be one of those shaking the tin lol

Do they let the public walk through the Paddocks? I always go in, but assumed that's because i'm looking for my little boy.
Yep... but they do warn you first that many of the cats don't like to be touched and may lash out (I guess they have to cover themselves).  They also have volunteers manning the entrance/exits 'armed' with collection tins. ;D

It would be nice to say hello on the day-we'll have to get little name tags printed lol
Oh yes, think we will have to - last year, Rosella and Gail (another Purrs member) went and said what they'd be wearing, but I never saw them!  Must order Purrs badges this year everyone!

Hi  Jasmine, it certainly has been an emotional rollercoaster! At the moment, i'm thinking someone's possibly taken him in (like some of those on catchat, who're looking after ferals) I've got him registered on loads of websites now, thanks to people on the sites telling me about them! Im sure he could be brought round with 1  to 1 contact. He was only ever used to me and Mike and was so fussy with us. I just wish i knew.

I'd never heard of Cramar before, so this will be my first open day. Do they let the public walk through the Paddocks? I always go in, but assumed that's because i'm looking for my little boy.

Hi Shirley,

I've been following your post on Catchat, what an emotional rollercoaster you've been on.
I do hope that your grey boy returns, or finds sanctuary elsewhere.
 :wish:

I have been to Cramar's Open Day every year since moving to Warwickshire; I love the Paddocks!
(This date is already pencilled in my diary!)

Hi, you're only the 2nd person i've told about Cramar that's ever heard of it!! I've been on Catchat since about Feb cos a semi feral i'd taken there has escaped (he's gorgeous and was born 6  years ago in the factory where i worked till i was made redundant-he's on every website i can find!)
Have you been round the Paddock? Some of them come for a fuss like your own cat, don't they? I've been going over a lot to try to find my little grey baby-i could stay there all day, i love it!
Will you be going to the Open day then?
The people i speak to on Catchat live all over the country and would love to come but it's too far. They would all love a place like Cramar near to them, they think it's amazing! (Well, it is!)
Here's a pic of my little missing boy

p.s. i've been trying to find the local paper to run a story on him, but had no luck-do you know?
