If they are that age, I would do as CC says and put the little one in a box and put a small amount of kitten food in there to see if he/she eats it.  They may be of an age that they can take solids.

Definitely place the box somewhere warm, dry and safe and lie in wait to see if a mum appears or the other kitten returns.  If no sign of mum, then it will be necessary for the little one to taken in and if no solids are eaten then a kitten milk (cimicat, Lactol Gold for Kittens, or similar) will be needed to feed them.  They will also probably have fleas if they have been raised outdoors and fleas can be killers on little ones, so they will need to be treated but be careful as many flea treatments are dangerous to young kittens.  I would think a vet check will be necessary to give them the once over.

Whereabouts are you?  I handrear orphaned and abandoned kittens so if you need any help, pm me.

1. Dont panic!
2. Get them a vet check and worm/flea treatments.
3. Good quality kitten food, in small regular meals.

Keep them in one room to start with whilst litter training is perfected and also because they fit into the tiniest of holes!  ;)

If they are feral then some extra socialising is needed

Dont know. But I would say to maybe put them into a box or give them some shelter and the mother may come back.  :shy:

But leave them where they were found and watch the site closely.

I could be totally wrong tho

HELP! ABANDONED KITTENS FOUND!
« Reply #1 on: June 18, 2009, 12:57:50 PM »
Just had a distress call from my partners mum, while she was in the garden sorting out some rubbish she found 2 small kittens, only about 4 or 5 weeks old. She managed to catch 1 of them, but the other ran away fromn her.. I'm going up soon to try and find it. The captured one is skin and bone apparently  :'(

What advice could you give me?... please, I have no experience with caring for kittens
