Cystitis in cats shows up as urinating tiny amount, frequently, sometimes blood will be present.. and is much more dangerous for male cats. My little Tilly had it last summer, it was horrible.

Just checking - but is your female cat spayed?

Reason I ask is that if she's not then she could be in heat - we found when our kitten was in heat that she peed on the duvet 3 times ... our washing machine was certainly making odd noises after stuffing a king size duvet in there 3 times!

I would definitely ask the rescue the procedure for getting him neutered.

Bond is about 6 months we think. I am actually thinking it may have been Milo now :shify: Due to having to go undercover to commit the crime, she's the only one unbothered by being covered. She doesn't like the litter I've got this week any more than I do as I had to chase her from peeing in the laundry earlier in a pile of cat litter type stuff (actually sawdust from a firelog that got damp and exploded all over the floor). So I think it is a protest thing.

No more incidents since fully making the bed and removing al items of clothing/fabric from anywhere near the floor. So far so good. I have now also watched both Bond and Milo peeing (my life is so fulfilling :evillaugh:) and there is nothing unusual behaviour wise. Observing the little man do anything other than disappear at speed is more of a challenge but he sounds normal :evillaugh:

I think yesterday was just an unfortunate blip in our otherwise happy little household.

I would still liek to know how whoever did it, did it! If it was Bond he certainly suits his name!

How old is Bond? Male cats tend to spray with being unneutered rather than wee

The bed is actually a common place to mark; it smells of you and you're the person making those cats secure right now, so whichever cat is doing it is possibly mixing scents. I agree with Desley though, it's probably safer to rule out a UTI of some form.

Interesting, I hadn't thought of that. Having a quick look at symptoms the only thing anyone is displaying is not always using their tray and only Bond. I watched him pee on a pair of my trousers yesterday morning and there was no distress or difficulty, he just took a pee like it was the most normal thing in the world which is why my first thoughts have been behavioural, most likely linked to a bit of maturing and being unspeyed.

I will keep an eye on it though.

I would try and get a urine sample off all of them, in case it is cystitis rather than marking.

The mystery of the peed on sheets

So today was major laundry day, discovered some washing done earlier in the week had been peed on so had to re-do all that and all my regular washing. The last wash was the bath mat, also the victim of a pee attack and this is when the washing machine drum decided to break free of its bearings and give up :tired: Oh well, I thought, can live without a bath mat for a couple of days and at least nobody can pee on something that isn't there.

Anyway, have just been putting the washed bedlinen on the bed. I only have one set of sheets, haven't got round to buying a second set yet. I put the fitted sheet on. I put the flat sheet on. I put the square pillows on. I chuck the duvet on the bed and start faffing about with the cover and start to put that on. I have one hand on the corner of the cover and the other on the corner of the duvet. I proceed with stuffing. Something wet. I stop stuffing. I look. :censored: :censored: somebody has :censored: peed on the duvet. So off I go to get a cloth and some kitchen roll to do a haphazard clean up job due to no washing machine.

This is when I discover the mystery. While cleaning the duvet I spot a soiled patch, quite small, towards the pillows. :censored: Clean that with the cloth too as little choice at this hour with no washing machine. That's that I think and start trying to make sure to insert damp peed end at the bottom so I don't have to smell it while trying to sleep  That's when I discover TWO MORE patched of wee! What on earth is going on! This part of the bed was completely covered with the duvet the whole time! How on earth have they managed to get under there, pee twice and disappear without me noticing!

So then I think maybe they were already there and have seeped through, so I strip the sheets off and investigate. Electric blanket, unstained and bone dry but for one tiny little drip. Mattress spotless.

So how and who on earth has peed all over the bed without me noticing while I'm moving round where they've peed :censored: I'm fuming, got the sheets soaking in the bath but have no idea how I'm going to be able to sleep on the bed or how to stop this behaviour. I now know piles of washing, wherever they are, clean or not, are high on the hit list and have been vigilant the last couple of days but the bed is a new one on me. So random.

I am not a happy bunny and I can't even tell anyone off because I don't know who did it. I suspect Bond as he's been the culprit before and he is unspeyed (guess what I'll be requesting).
