Well, it was gentle - and at a distance.  :shy:

Four breaks.  She's been so gutsy and so fortunate to come through it to this point.  Poor little lass.  Let's hope it's all "onward and upward" now - time for her and Wilma to perhaps come in from the cold (metaphorically speaking).

Just popping by with a gentle little snuzzle for Monica.

My word your brave Aunty Suepoo

Monica is eating but mainly dry food which doesnt help when her pain relief goes in the wet food, she is coping with confinement much better than I expected, she even managed to raise her front legs into a sitting position yesterday. I am informed by OH that I wasnt paying attention to vets because she actually has 4 breaks.
Strangely enough she is occupying the same Pen she was in over 9 years ago when we first trapped her with newborn kittens, I keep getting flashbacks and seeing her gorgeous tabby boys of all those years ago.

Poor Monica, being cooped up must be simply awful for her.  I hope Wilma can get through today.  Would Monica cheer up a little with some tuna or pilchards?

Aww, poor Monica. I wonder if some REscue REmedy in her water/food would help her. I remember Ginger being depressed at staying in for 10 days, but at least i could cuddle him.

Monica finally piddled around 9pm yesterday and has pooped today, so hopefully all she will have to endure now is a long period of confinement.

Just been catching up with this topic, im so sorry to hear about Monica and hope the piddles soon start coming, maybe if she could see Wilma it may help, and i do hope Wilma finds her friend, it will probably be  just the tonic they both need, could you put a little bit of grass in her cage to get her smell on it ,then put it outside and see if Wilma  can locate her this way, silly i know but worth a try maybe

Sending lots of best vibes for Monica and hope that Wilma gets brave enough to visit

I have never dealt with a true feral but when Sasa needs to go to the vet its trauma enough and being locked up in prison is terrible for them  :(

I do hope that Monicas breaks heal well and she doesnt get too upset in the cage

:thanks: all, at least she is eating ok.

Liz I always spinkle compost on top of litter when I confine a feral but thankyou, on the xray her bladder is huge and appears undamaged so its just a case of hoping she is able to piddle. Love the story about the flower garden at vets, you have to live with ferals to understand all their little quirks.
Have spent ages trying to point Wilma in Monicas direction to no avail, cant do a scent trail now because Monica smells of vets, short of putting little sign posts up all over the garden I`m lost for ideas.

My thoughts are with Monica

it makes you realise how difficult it is for animals,if a human is taken to hospital you can let your friends know,if you are an animal it is hunt around and live in hope that your pal will turn up.

That is so true: there are so very many things I wish we could explain to them.

All fingers and paws crossed here for the lovely Monica

T I know its am after thought but have you tried sterilised compost in her litter tray - we end up reverting to this for the ferals who have required cage rest and although messy as anything we have had a result

We paid our vet for the soil service when the late Tiger was hit by a car and hadn't been for 4 days and vets were giving us negative vibes till Robin said do you have any soil handy - this is at 11pm at  night vet says we have a flower bed at front of hospital - good advises Robin go and get some soil in to his litter tray and he will perform - lo and behold vet got 4 days worth at 3am and phoned us to advise of result!

We`ve just brought her home and settled her in a Pen, managed to put her in bottom Pen right by the door so hopefully with main door open Wilma will be able to visit her, trouble is Wilma is frightened without her pal and keeping a low profile; it makes you realise how difficult it is for animals,if a human is taken to hospital you can let your friends know,if you are an animal it is hunt around and live in hope that your pal will turn up.
Monica has 3 breaks in pelvis, one on left, one on right and one in sacral illiac area, we are to give her till Saturday am to pass urine and if not straight back to vets, her leg wound has been stitched and shouldnt cause any problems, now we just need piddle and healing vibes please.
