Wow that's really awsome.  As Leigh says, Gillian you have a wonderful gift.

Thank you Sam  :thanks:

I can also vouch for Gillian's packaging, it must have cost most of what I gave her for the picture - when my other three are done (don't panic Gillian, I know you are busy!) I will be collecting them I hope to save her the trouble and maybe a persian at the same time!

I couldnt convince you to have a certain moggie instead could I?  :innocent:

Thanks folks,

That's a beautiful picture Dawn, I think the difference is that the Amber on the right hasn't got a silver frame around her :) :)

I fitted the frame and plaque lunchtime and she will be proudly on my living room withing the next two hours.

Cheers

Leigh

Hi Gillian,

There's so much more to a picture like this than achieving a good likeness IMO, it's very personal, all the memories it evokes and that's what makes it "priceless". I bought a small watercolour of the bndge at Richmond off of an artist on the river bank on the Thames at Richmond a while back, it sits on the wall in the hall, I like it, it looks nice but Suzie's portrait means so much more. She had a wonderfully long, happy and adventurous life with both mum and then myself and this picture is a celebration. BTW I put it on www.alfie-cat.co.uk in my "Leigh's Space" page alongside a link to your website.

Cheers

Leigh

I am so delighted, I know it sounds a bit slushy but I miss her terribly, there's never a day goes by when I don't think about her and having this beautiful picture on the wall is a bit like her "coming home" :)

Aw Leigh, that brought a tear to my eye  I'm so pleased you think the portrait is a good likeness of Suzie -  you gave me some great photos to work from.

Yes, I think it is in the eyes, Gillian has captured them wonderfully, I really love the velour paper she uses, a great texture and the gilt edging to the mounting looks great. I have chosen a simple dark wood frame, sort of walnut/mahogony with a little gold engraved plaque. A small but important note on packing, Gillian did a super job on protecting the painting always a concern with entrusting something as "priceless" as this to the tender mercies of our postal system!.

Clare hun, that sounds like a terrific idea, you know you are both very welcome any time and we could pop out or I could cook something if it was a weekend. I know you'll be every bit as thrilled with Maxy's portrait, hugs to the big fella from me.

The boys are very happy in their new home and as entertaining as always, I regret not having more time of late, but will be back more regularly when this project's finished.

Kind regards to all

Leigh

Hi folks,

Sorry I've not been around much, been very busy with a big project but will try and stop by more as soon as it is finished at the end of the month.

Today i received Suzie's portrait from Gillian and it's just so beautiful, when I first saw the proof a short while back the hairs on the back of my neck stood up, it's just so beautiful ad lifelike, I'm thrilled. Getting a frame lunchtime and a little engraved plaque for the frame.

Thank you ever so much Gillian you have a precious gift, can't wait to hang it in the living room this evening.

Cheers
