I can't believe I missed this thread!  :faint:

Satine is gorgeous  :Luv: she looks so chilled out

(yes I do feed ferals) wish my stray would come back, I think we've scared him off everytime we've done something to him.  I did ring where he is living the other day and he is fine though.
Please consider the harder to home cats in rescue.

She did have a home, although she was still out all hours when she lived with them and that was before they moved and left her!  >:( :(  How can people do that???  :scared:

Beats me why some people home pets.  The phrase "he's only a cat" still haunts me from  :censored: near neighbours who moved.  I remember the neighbour saying to me once that her cat wasn't friendly like other people's cats. Wonder why  >:(  Some people are scum and some are stars  like you BM  :)  Well done for finding out about her and taking her on

I cant leave her on the street as she is such a sweetie and she will come to new people with little persuasion so she is very vulnerable I feel!

I have a spare bedroom, so over the next few days Im gonna get her in here....She definitely deserves a forever home for I feel she has not been used to being in a house!

All good advice....Thank you!  ;D

We have a local shop that most peeps on the estate use, OH is gonna pop a poster up in their with a pic on when I can get a pic of her sometime today!  ;)

I will get some leaflets done over the next few day and put them through doors in the area!  ;D

Here's hoping cos I would love for her to have only got lost or even being a greedy girl but I fear this place just aint cat wise! I mean my next door neighbour saved a kitten on the estate that kids were beating up!!!  >:( :(

posters and leaflets definitely back up the paper collar but as long as she manages to keep the collar on- if her owners want her, they would definitely call. (I'd be on the phone straight away if I thought my cat could disappear!!!)
When I trapped my strays, Oscar and Toby who are now in lovely new homes, I couldn't get near enough to put collars on them so put a carefully worded note through all the local doors. If you do a note, just put your intentions on it so people don't think you're a busy body and realise you are trying to do a good thing. I ahve found people can get very funny about these things and often think the cat will end up in 'cat prison'  >:( or PTS. Neither of which will happen but occasionally people ignore strays cause they don't realise the good work that rescues do.

There are so many cats here, we don't know who they belong to or if they have no owner. I know of some toms that are not neutered, but then, my neighbour doesn't I guess >:(

You could put up a leaflet asking if anyone knows the cat and possible owners, so they can be contacted. After all she might be living around the corner and enjoying an extra meal from you  ;D

I think the best thing to do is what I tell people when they call.... if you can get close enough put a paper collar on her to double check she's stray saying something like; 'this cat appears to be a stray, if she is your cat then please call xxxxxxxxxxx' if you haven't heard in a week then call CP or other rescue who should get her on their waiting list. My branch would consider a stray a very high priority as there's the risk of being unneutered, she will then hopefully get a nice rescue place soon and although kittens are desirable by lots of people, there are lots of homes that are happy to take on an older cat, especially those in slightly busier areas where they wouldn't be given a kitten or young cat by a rescue. She will find a lovely home, even if it does take a little bit of time in care.
Keep feeding her until she can be taken in but if she doesn't want to come in, I wouldn't push it as it may stress her and also your other cats. I'm sure she has found a shelter, cats are very resilient and there is always the chance that she does have a home- she just appears to not. Therefore, the collar is always a good idea cause I know how I'd feel if my cat suddenly disappeared!

Just thought Id add that I know older cats do go into rescue's, but up here where I am from there are so many kitten's younger cats in care that I really think she would be overlooked and that would be such a shame as she's a real sweetie!  :Luv:

She is definitely stray as you can pet her!  :Luv:

I will keep feeding her T....She gets fed the same time as my lot and she is already aware of meal times!  :wow:

I dont think there would be much hope for her in one of the rescues as she must be approx 8, I could always say if someone was interested in an only cat etc I suppose!  ;D

...The feeding is not the problem, its just I feel awful her being outside!  :shy:

i personally wouldnt feed a stray without being able to get them checked out, in case they aren't neutered and she might even be microchipped and someone is missing her. If you can't take them in, then ultimately getting them on a rescue waiting list now would be best, so she can have a chance of a home life and tell them you are happy to feed her until a space is found.

with the warmer weather hopefully nearly upon us I would have thought staying outside is not an urgent problem - she probably has a dry place already

so I would feed, but not invite in - though a bit of socialisation wouldn't go amiss no doubt

then see how things stand around September/October

I do feed her already...started just over a week ago! Spoke to a couple of neighbours and they thought she was mine!

Its just I know my cats are at their limit now...I know that if I add anymore there will be chaos as I already have two cats who have a spraying comp!

I am undecided on this? What do you think Janey....that's if it is you who feeds the strays?  ;)

I know what you mean about cats being at the limit,  I know if I added anymore to my 10 there would be hell to pay.

I think its Janey who feeds the ferals  :)

She's a lovely cat and I also think she may be old, as in 8 or 9 maybe older!

The only reason she wont come in is cos of the others isnt it? Maybe just sneak her up into the empty room and then see how she reacts, if she is still going crazy let her out with a note on a collar, you never know  :tired:

Dawn Bazsmum has many strays in her house, most from me lol

I have a similar problem with a 'full' tom cat that hangs around our house,  I think he is a stray because he is out in all weathers and at all times and not neutered so I think I am safe in saying he is stray,   now this sounds cruel,  but if he was neutered (or I could get hold of him and get him neutered)  I would definitely feed him,   but I dont just because he sprays everywhere if he comes anywhere near the house at the moment and he is a bit stinky !!!.

So in short my answer would be,  yes feed her xx
