As the mother to th 42 Cats can I say that in the most ours will get on and several sleep together

Firstly the ferals Miss Cissy and Ragamuffin (longahir) and Smudger on a reinforced radiator bed - they have now been with us for 47 weeks and are now all housecats and fully injected - 2 dentals to go!

The we have Lima, - small tabby, Sabrina Large tabby and Rogue our little white and bboy - yet another 3 of the clan ferals

Finally from the left - Merlin, Pebbles, Bandit and Moose - all nicely colour coordinated!  Feral and domestics in this shot

If hes the kind who wants a pal then id get a boy of 1-2 yr, friendly lads like to wrestle, girls tend not to appreciate that kind of play!
Males wont spray in the house if a male moves in, however they may spray if you get the wrong newbie, females can also spray. This is why i prefer adult cats, what you see is what you get, kittens may grow up the opposite of how they are when young. Out of my 3 siblings 2 changed and 1 didnt so you never know til they grow up

I'm sorry too.  :)

I thought similar but Bonnie's darker - didn't notice the tail (or lack of it) until now.

Sunshine's is longer than Bonnie's

I don't mean to Hijack the thread but Sunshine is similar to Bonnie in more than one way.  :Luv2:

I don't think so - Yindee loves Sunshine. I know Sally reads purrs. Hopefully she will post to confirm what they are like and give us a more recent photo of them together  :shify:

A couple more pics and one of Yindee with another friend  :Luv2:

Lovely photo Mark but I'm not 100% convinced it's a cuddle - the eyes on the siamese tell me it might be a throttle

These aren't my cats - I hope Sally doesn't mind me posting a photo taken shortly after she adopted the Beautiful Sunshine and introduced her to Yindee, her Siamese. (about 18 months ago I think)

My 4 aren't close at all.

I'm very jealous

I'd need a very wide-angled lens to get Trigger and Tiffany into the same photo :(

Boo and Jimjam are the same. No matter how much Boo tries to make him his best friend Jimjam just swipes at him in return.  :-:

We have recently introduced 2 female kittens into our tribe.  Whilst they were initially a bit of a shock to the existing puds as they have no fear and move very fast, they now get on extremely well with their their 2 uncles and 1 auntie.  Their mom is however another story   Go figure.

We have 2 boys. Jess came first and is quite nervy so we were worried about introducing another to him. But a year later we took the plunge and Milo arrived, he is the complete opposite to Jess. I was so worried about upsetting Jess by getting another but in fact its the best thing we've ever done.

Here are pics of them both cuddled up together, its really lovely to see. We count ourselves lucky that they get on so well.

Good luck with your new addition

Awww what lovely pictures. I am so worried that it wont workout :scared: but I will never know until I try I guess lol

I agree, it depends on each individual cat, alot of people seem to say the opposite sex but we have had m and f who have just tolerated each other and 2 males who curled up together so it really seems to depend on the cat.

I have 6 cats and they all get along fine. But it does depend on the cat tho  :shy:

I wouldnt say any cat would have a problem with a kitten of any sex as long as it get done at the right time.

My eldest is male and the kitten after him was male too. Then I got a female, and they all got along really well. So I would say the sex has nothing to do with it  :)

If he's as laid back as you say I wouldnt see a problem  :)

My eldest is pretty cool with any other cat as long as its not an unneutered male  :shify:

Just to add I would consider an older kitten as my 2yo ragged our kitten about a bit much, he was very rough and she couldnt cope with it.
Thank you for the advice :thanks:
The one main reason I thought a female would be better was because I was told male cats will tend to spray if another male comes into the home.  I just want to get everything right so it all goes smoothly so any advice is greatly appreciated x

Hi Everyone, I have a male neutered cat who is quite laid back he gets on brilliantly with our dog. We have decided we would like to get another cat my big question is what sex to get is a female going to be the best option, or another male? So many people have different ideas I really want to get it right so it works out. We are looking to getting a kitten can anyone give me any advice and is it likely to work out? Many thanks
