Took him back for his follow-up appointment this morning which was supposed to be with the lady vet we saw last week but although the board in the surgery said she was in she wasn't, so I had to explain his problem all over again to yet another vet, including last year's episode which isn't in his notes because it happened when we were in France
His snuffles have cleared up and I haven't seen him shaking his head over the past few days but that does tend to come and go. Hhe got another very thorough examination and he didn't protest this time when the scope was poked down his ear so it must be feeling better. The vet did say there was wax in there (it was cleaned last week) so I think we just have to accept that he over-produces wax and try to keep it clean for him (should be fun). Like last week the vet was surprised at how old he is and was very impressed with his general condition, especially his coat (which I have to say
is looking especially good at the moment) and the fact that he doesn't have a skinny back end like a lot of elderly cats with renal issues (but then Korky doesn't do skinny :
). We discussed his diet (he won't eat the renal anymore) and although the vet did say to try to get him back on it he agreed that its better he eats 'ordinary' food than doesn't eat. TBH I think he's looked better since stopping the renal food but only his next bloods will tell what the real consequences of that are. Anyway, for now we're happy
