I hate to say this but you two are so alike....in the confrontational way of course!

I am not arguing, honest and who ever had posted I would just post what I have.  I am just putting the facts of CP and their policy on vouchers.

Anyway there is nothing else to say now as I think I have covered it all. Well maybe :)

Simple?

To you maybe but not to my simple brain, Only one CP voucher white, pink, blue, ginger pink with blue spots on is allowed to be used for one cat. CP are very strict on that, also no CP voucher is allowed out of CP hands until it has been completed by a CP person. No one should have blank vouchers. Still what is done is done.

No she went in with a yellow voucher- she would of had to pay £15 top up but because she is on benefits, the vets give her a white voucher so she had to pay £5 top up. Simple?

Right, as I say the white vouchers are issued by CP HQ and if the cost of the neuter/spay was £5 more than was printed on the voucher then that is why your friend would have paid the difference. However,  the vet should not have altered  the voucher at all  as apart from it being forbidden he would be getting the extra £5 twice, once from your friend and once by adding and extra £5 on the voucher.

Having written all that, I have just clicked you say
Quote
the vet gave her this
, do you mean the vet gave her the £5 to pay him? How strange giving her £5 to give him back and then committing an naughty  :) and altering the voucher. Slapped legs me thinks.  ;D

Just has another thought, difficult at my age, you say
Quote
and the vets changed it to a £5 one,
Now the vet would only have put the price of the neuter/spay on the voucher (although he should not have, naughty person) why would he have only put £5 and your friend only asked for £5. Surely neuters/spays are not only £10.

Do you know what I think we had better end this as it hurts my brain too much.  ;D  All this thinking is not good for me. The most important this is the little one had its 'op'.

Ok so when my friend got a voucher from our local CP, and the vets changed it to a £5 one,

The pink and blue vouchers are for a fixed amount (£26 & £2O) and should not be altered even by CP people. The yellow vouchers are the vouchers which CP people can put an amount in but that would be over and above the fixed amount as on the pink and blue vouchers and a vet or anyone other than the person who issued the voucher has no authority to alter it.
Just remembered CP HQ issue white vouchers but again the are for the fixed amounts or an amount written in by them and they too must not be altered in any circumstances unless by HQ.

Well your vet must know something that no one in Cats Protection, branch, shelter or HQ are privy to   ;D as there are no £5 vouchers and never has been.

Perhaps you could send your idea to CP HQ neutering section for consideration.

I just heard about a (sort of) friend of a friend who has a cat on her second litter because she didn't think she could afford neutering but by her own admission "didn't realise how hard it would be to get homes for them"  apparently she is a big face book fan, I openly admit to not having a clue how this works but if people can complain about bras on it could the cp neutering scheme use it for advertising - I don't know if its feasible but does anyone know if it could work?

Just received a list of last months neuters and spays, 18 people have not used them and another 3 have only taken one cat when they asked for 2 vouchers, so now I will be sending a letter and an offer to pay the extra £5.  I bet they are the people who know I will pay the extra if they don't bother, then again some months I have offered to pay all the cost after the initial voucher has not been used and loads have not gone on to take up my offer, makes me wonder why they rang in the first place.

This is what gets to me....most peeps think the reason that spay/neuter is to stop unwanted kittens etc...There are more reasons as we know!  :(

Wish people would stop being silly and get with the program!  :-:

cant that lead to cancer if untreated?

It certainly can. Yesterday a 10 month old had 2 retained testicles, today it is  4 year old with one retained testical. Over they last few weeks I have noticed there were quite a number of the older cats  (well not older  as in old  ;D but not kittens) so that is a good thing. It would appear that these little ones had perhaps not seen a vet each year as they should.

NEUTERING CAMPAIGN
Once again we have having a neutering Campaign which started  23rd March   and will go on until the end of this month. It has cost us over £500 to advertise it for 10 weeks but worth every penny. So far I have issued 214 vouchers for people to have their cats neutered/spayed for £5. Although I doubt all will be used, mind you next month I will contact all those who have not used the voucher and offer transport and to pay the remaining £5. I also have 57 people who will have vouchers when their kittens are old enough. What has surprised me this time is the number of male cats who have been found to have retained testicles, of course they still pay only £5 so in some cases we are saving them almost £200.
