most needy rescue cat? opinions please

I think that a cat that has been living in a pen at a rescue for a long time definately needs a home more than one with a fosterer, unless the foster keeps then penned up of course.

I saw a lovely cat at CP in London that had been institutionalized from just being in a pen long term and am sure once inn ahome environment would blossom.

If I had been able to move sooner I was thinking of taking him on cos he was so gorgeous.

Also of course there is Sasa who is so much better free and able to raom and make her own little decisions

Tricky one - while the cat in a true rescue environment wont have had as much space etc than one with a fosterer, they are both in need of a home, and some cats will do much better once rehomed even if they are in a home environment with a fosterer, I have had a few like that, especially if they are cats that do dislike others. And as Dawn says, they are taking up space

I do but in saying that all cats in rescues needs homes regardless of being with a fosterer or in a pen.  Whilst with a fosterer its the same thing, they are taking up space so another can't be helped, I do rescue from home and have been chocca for god knows how long and mine aren't penned for long but the problem I have then is, they do form bonds with one or more of the other cats which again makes it difficult to rehome unless they can go with the others    When I've had enquiries about a couple of my feral cats, I have passed these on to my local rescue at times as I know they have theirs penned and for a feral this must be traumatic over a long period of time.

Do peeps consider cats being kept in pens in  rescue centres more in need of a new home than cats with fosterers? I come across cats on CatChat who have been in foster care for well over a year, and wonder if in effect they do have a home in reality? whereas a cat who had been in a rescue centre for the same length of time would surely be more in need of a permanent home?
