It sounds as if Noah is settling in already  ;D

I had somehow managed to miss his story and just want to say a belated congratulations to all those concerned in his rescue and recovery

Edited to add that I didn't realise who he was: I remember following his progress a few months ago.  How wonderful that he now has a lovely new home  :wow:

Morning Noah fans!

Late yesterday evening Noah emerged gingerly for more food, a drink, use the litter tray and sniff all around the sitting room before taking up residence on top of one of my storage units (worktop height and size) for a very thorough wash. He eyed up the sofa where I was sat but didn't make a move :scared: although he did allow me to approach him and headbutted me for a stroke, but no purring.

This morning I was greeted by miaows, Noah telling me I was rather late serving breakfast! He's had a little more fishy cat food, a half hour of :catlove2: with lots of purring before returning to his vantage point on top of the unit for his morning ablutions. He seems MUCH more relaxed today, if all goes well I will attempt photographs tomorrow. Noah's favourite toy mouse has moved overnight, so will try playing a bit later!

Glad Noah is now with you  :Luv2:

Let him settle in his own time is all I can say, I'm sure he'll come round in no time

When I adopted Poot 2 months ago, he spent the first few days mostly hiding under the bed and generally being scaredy, to look at him now you'd never now how nervous he had been.

Noah has well and truly landed on his paws, he just needs a bit of time to figure that out  :Luv2:

Noah has graduated from behind the sofa to inside a large cardboard box with a blanket from his foster home. Smelly fishy food has been consumed but he isn't interested in his favourite laser toy. I am presently sitting on the sofa and talking to him every so often, hopefully he will explore the sitting room undisturbed overnight.

I know they can take a while to settle - I had a gorgeous little black female from the RSPCA who lived under the spare bed for the first week, but turned into a very loving cat after a couple of months. I just feel so sorry for Noah he's had a tough day with both a car and van journey, a quick visit to the vet and then being abandoned in an alien environment.  :scared:

I agree with Helen - he just needs some time to adjust to his new home.   If you give him space and time to gather his courage and curiousity he'll  be making himself at home in no time.   ;D   Welcome Home Noah!

Noah has just been delivered, and is presently hiding behind the sofa.  :'( He has been out for very small forays, but crouched right down: he ventured out to sniff his water bowl so will try to tempt him with some smelly fishy food shortly. I will take photos but not until he is a little more settled which his foster mum seems to think will only be a day or two.

A big  :thanks: to all at Adel Cats Protection for working such miracles to get Noah well, and entrusting him to me!

is tomorrow the big day?

I think (hope!) so, I need to ring Liz at Adel CP to confirm. The litter tray, carrier, dry food and litter all arrived yesterday so all the basics are in place: over the few weeks the Kalven tree and Turbo Track will arrive, and I am going to ask for cat-proof window protection for my birthday next month.

I would have adopted Noah however the first meeting had gone, but I do feel more confident he will settle quickly here now. His fosterer typed up his likes and dislikes which is brilliant as you don't always know so much about a rescue cat. I need a week to get organised: I've just placed an order with PetPlanet for dry food, litter, litter tray and carrier so need this to arrive before Noah! Also my boyfriend is moving out late in the week  :( so it wouldn't be fair to bring Noah into the disruption.

I am sure the Turbo Track will be worth the money and the wait; if Noah really takes to it I will place an order with Purrs for a third set plus whatever bits and bobs catch my eye.

I have met Noah and ... :catlove2: He had a cuddle on my lap and purred away, no sign of any hissing or nipping which he does occasionally when frightened! Noah's foster mum has worked wonders building up his trust. I am, of course, covered in white fur! ;) Luckily my sofa, rug, towels and duvet cover are off white so Noah's hair will blend in beautifully. Really looking forward to his arrival next weekend!

That cat tree looks good, nice and soft for his paws  ;D

The Purrs shop postal prices go on weight and the turbo track is quite bulky/heavy - you could have added lots of other little bits to the order without the postage price going up.  Sorry, not helpful after the event is it  :shy: Tan imports lots of the toys from the US so Noah will be one of the few UK cats to own one  :wow:

I know what you mean about sensible ... but if I don't get a litter tray and some James Wellbeloved I don't think either of us will be very happy! I ordered the Turbo Tracks from the Purrs shop - I wouldn't have paid £7 delivery if it wasn't for a good cause! However they are out of stock, so won't arrive before Noah.  :'(

A decision has (almost) been made on the cat tree: I have e-mailed a local company to price up adding a bed to this:
http://www.kalven.co.uk/playcentre.htm
I think these are made to order so again the tree won't be here before Noah!

I am going to visit on Saturday and cannot wait to meet Noah and his lovely foster mum!

Ordered so far a SlimCat feeding ball, plush cube with catnip balls hidden inside, small Puppy Kong and two Turbo Track kits as I just could not resist this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIgdVucDeVU&feature=fvw
Noah apparently already has lots of smaller toys sent in by his fan club, and particularly likes a fishing rod and a furry mouse. I'm afraid the only sensible stuff I have bought are feeding bowls and cat grass!
