Biscuits - which are the best for prevention of hairballs?

If memory serves, some if not all of the RC indoor foods include hairball control. Pearl adores the RC Beauty & Fit 36 for indoor cats and I know that particular one has hairball control.

I know Iams also has a hairball conrol dry food because a local discount store had a job lot in a while back - I bought one bag and a fellow cat slave (who has 15 cats plus CP fosters) bought the rest.

aw thanks saffron but theres no need..cody won a 10kg bag of rc and they have obviously just sent what they were surplus of, makes no difference as im sure the 3 will eat it anyways..cody isnt overweight so no worries there and the other boys are 10 and over so might be good for them

skin care 33 does put the weight on Lynn, its for cats over 10yrs of age needing help for healthy skin & coat, it runs in par with mature 27 & active mature 28

P.S: Scatty cat you can buy the Hills Hairball control from Pets at Home (forgot to say in my last post) Not sure what it's like costwise though as I don't pay full whack for Hills.

Thanks for the information - i've had a look at P@H's website and they sell a 2kg bag for £13.79 (which is only a couple of quid more of the equivilent of the Iams light) so I think we might give that a go.

i got my 10kg bag of rc that cody won and its sensitivity stuff..no probs even tho cody not got probs it wont do him harm, but .... he doesnt like it too much...guess he'll have to start liking it coz he's got 10kgs to eat..or he can lump it LOL

LOL! Poor Cody. Is it the sensible one (purple bag)? Tigger likes that a bit too much and is currently on a diet because of it lol. It doesn't upset her tummy but made her develop a tubby tummy as it's really high in fat for some reason (on a par with the kitten food I seem to recall)

I don't know about foods but I give Mosi a deffurrum treat twice a day and that seems to keep his hairballs in check

Lol! I think RC are possibly on a money making venture at the mo with one of the foods they have brought out now, the Queen34 food.

dont think a supermarket would sell specialist foods but royal canin does food for this, not sure if hills do or not these days but i'd look into royal canin.

i dont know of other brands who may do it.

We currently give our cats Iams Light biscuits for them to nibble on throughout the day/night - which they enjoy.

Jasper and Sully (both males) are really the only two that eat the biscuits, as Suki, only has 1 tooth so cant crunch!

We have noticed that the boys do bring up hairballs (along with the pile of puke  ) and wondered if anyone could recommend any biscuits which are good at reducing hairballs (but wont necessarily put weight on by eating lots if they had the chance!) - but that you can buy from a supermarket or say Pets at Home store?
