Yep, I'll just sort out meeting times with woowoo and speak to Cains owner and just check about him travelling and things so all sounds good so far  :)

Right, after lots of phone calls  :evillaugh: it's looking like it will be Bank Holiday Monday as that seems to fit in with all of us, just to arrange times now, so fingers crossed Caine will be in a lovely new home a week on Monday  :)

Karen, you'd do that? You and Janey are wonderful! :)

I think all that needs to be done is for numbers to be exchanged between everyone doing the run and Woowoo. So, if Karen can get in touch with Cains owner (WooWoo, you need to PM the number!) and organise collecting him, then Janey needs Karens number and WooWoo needs Janeys.....I think that's right!

I'm so pleased that she didn't let him go to just anyone. I mislaid the number (it was on a post it that disappeared from the PC!) and didn't want to bother her until I knew someone could help for definite.

Have spoken to Cain's owner and she thought we had forgotten, he is still with her though - thankfully!

Thanks Woowoo, I'm still not having any luck either. :(

Could you phone his current owner and keep her updated? I don't want her to think we've forgotten him!

I've tried a friend and a Lurcher rescue number that I have, but no luck. Hopefully we'll hear something soon.

I can see why you'd be reluctant. It's not really built for a big dog your car! ;)

Keep up the good work hun .... you know I'd offer to help but I really don't think a lurcher and mylittle car would be a good combination  ;)

Not yet. Have posted on another three dog forums in the last two days - I have no idea why it's proving so difficult but will keep trying!

Blimey, organising this first bit's proving to be difficult. It's odd because I think how far you're going to drive Janey and it seems mad that noone on the other sites is prepared to do what is essentially a run that will take roughly 2 hours out of  their day.

Any luck yet JS?

Woowoo? Can you PM Janey and tell her where you are in Cumbria? :) Will try and hunt down someone to do the first leg. Will also pass on current owners phone number to Woowoo, and phone the owner tonight regarding the plan.

JS if someone can just do that first leg from Nottingham to Woolley Edge Services we'll do the rest right up to Cumbria.  Where in Cumbria is it?

I dont know if I can help at all but I am driving from Leicester to Carnforth (Lancs) on Saturday (18th) and could take him to Cumbria. However, must note I only have small car (Nissan Micra) and it doesn't have dog screen. Depends how well he travels and how safe it would be. Anyway, pm me if I can be off help.

After 21st we could take him Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday, Barnsley to Kendal area other than that Sunday but wouldn't be full distance to Cumbria then.

Any time after the 21st. I'm aware this is a trek, so a chain will probably work better! The dog is currently in the Urgent section (will put a link up later) and after confirming this is acceptable to his current owner I think it's best to put the wheels in motion. (That sounds like a bad joke in the transport section!)
