Cats peeing on 'lawn' - any ideas?

it sounds a hopeless case to me, I'm afraid - but it's cheaper than weedkiller, so perhaps you can train them to go on the daisies and dandelions

They have many, many flowerbeds (it's a big garden), some newly dug. They have an outsiide litter tray in its own little shelter. Blacken still pees on the grass and Mitzi still pees where Blacken pees!

I agree- a newly dug flowerbed will always attract them whether you want it to or not!!! I would also recommend a little sand pit in a corner somewhere. Cat's can not resist sand!

I was also gonna suggest  digging a bed specially for them cos cats cant resist newly dug flower beds and once they have used it they will keep going back there if you keep it clean.

You could plant some nice littel plants at the front with all the back for them as long as you leave places for them to get through.

you cant stop them but can offer a more inviting alternative 
Try digging over and sieveing one patch of earth, you can also add sand to make a nicer texture or a patch of shingle may meet their requirements

apparently man pee is an excellent repellent.  it stops foxes and badgers so maybe it will work for cats.

I think I'd try digging out a bed where one of them has wee'd, to see if they will use it - if they won't you can always replant with grass seed

mine always use two gaps in my patio, which I keep topped up with John Innes - I find it's quite easy to find the lumps, and the wee disperses with the rain, or I water well in dry spells - they prefer these outdoor arrangements to their litter tray, whatever the weather (and so do I)

   i know it's a bit yukky but it honestly works.  my parents neighbours stopped their local foxes from peeing all over the boundary.  mind you, i think my dad did might take some persuading before they use that method themselves

pouring water over it after they go will help wash the wee away and stop the grass dying. Not sure there'll be a reliable way to stop them though.

There's also "dog rocks" which you can put in dogs water bowls to stop their wee marking the grass, i wonder if they'd work for cats too...

I catproofed my garden last June and its great, but....

Blacken, my 12 year old. has started to pee on the grass. Mitzi (16 months) now also pees on the grass in imitation. I have large brown patches where the grass has died.

I tried a spray cat repellent - then watched as Blacken peed on top of it!

The garden is large. I have a litter tray inside the house and one in the garden (which is in a plastic dog house). The other two cats do not pee on the grass.

Any ideas of how to save the grass?
