We do have more Bus Drivers like that... Granted not many in built up cities where the job makes your grumpy, but round here, a lot of us have good hearts.
My route took me past a vets surgery in Thanet and I often dropped off stray and injured creatures there. Sometimes some of the other buses whose routes crossed mine would flag me down and hand over animals that they'd found on the road as they knew I went past a vet. Mostly injured seagulls and other birds but also a poor little lost poodle that ran out in front of the number 88 in Ramsgate.
We sat the poodle in the luggage rack until we got to the vets. I shall never forget how the poor mite shook with fear.
It turned out to belong to an old lady and she had forgot to shut her front gate and doggie escaped.
