Hi just thought I would let you know that cats protection near Scarborough managed to go round and have got all the kittens they have just got the mum to catch (she will need trapping though). Some of the kittens have already got home as they were all friendly and handleable and are lovely cats. So glad the lady rang me to let me know they are all sorted out and Mum will be too when they catch her. So it is a good happy ending to this story and thanks again for all your help.

Hi sorry I have managed to get hold of a CP near by and they are on the case. They said they can sort and rehome the  kitten.  So thanks for your time and help

Sally

I thought they would and that's good news  :)

I've not heard anything Nikki and I've a feeling that - if CP or other rescue get involved they may find homes that way out, but ya never know.

OK Sally, I've done a fair bit of feral trapping and look after a colony myself and  it does get out of hand unless it gets sorted so it a concern, just give us a shout if you need any help re transport again  :)

I have given up with the owners as i haven't heard from them. I am going to try getting in touch with the cat protection in that area to let them know about him and the kitten and if the rescue can trap them and want us to take them then I might need some help transporting the kittens, that is if you can bear it. The only reason I am doing  that is they are young enough to help and I for my own piece of mind need to know I have done everything I can to help the kittens. I would say what I thought of the oner but I am tired, fed up and it wouldn't be very polite. But thank you very much for all your help.

I take it this is now not going to happen Sally?   If so, I just hope they get the CP or some other local rescue to sort out these kitties before the situation gets out of hand  :(

good luck with these. Margaret the farmer we tried to help out last year started with 4 females and must have had 60 cats at least after a couple of years. Sadly because of her attitude in always demanding the cats back we only managed to get 9 away from her and another 9 or so neutered and I know she had quite a few kittens still - so goodness knows what sort of mess she is in now. :(

Ok I have spoken to the lady that runs the rescue and she said and I agree the following, I am going to ring them at nine pm and say  are the kitten in and if I haven't heard from you by 10 am  tomorrow then the offer is off. obviously that is the gist of it and I will be very polite. Anyway I just thought I would let you know and I hope it is OK for tomorrow if it goes ahead. We should know by 10am if it is.

Thanks again fingers crossed that it all works.

Hi i have been trying to get hold of the owner who has  just got back to me. they are trying to find someone who can take them down to meet janey. I have said to keep in touch and let me know how it goes and when they find someone. I have also said they will need to move quickly as the older ones will be able to breed soon and then they will have 20-30 cats. I think they are still trying for tomorrow but we will see. They have also got to catch them and contain the in a room which I have said to do tonight if they want to go tomorrow.

Anyway I will keep you all posted

I have just got through to him also and he said the same to me, I said I just wish he had called and let me know before we set off but I said would be happy to help out again.

Next time I would do what you did Sally and Nikki and get him to ring me and say he is so far away before we leave, especially not knowing the chap - it does sound a bit odd 8-9 cats now?  :scared:

just got hold of the owner. His friend had to go into work so couldn't take him down. He has still got the kittens. There about 8-9 not 5. he is going to see if he can get someone to bring him down on friday. If we can do then I have said to keep in touch. Also is there anyone who can meet him nearer to scarborough. He has offered to pay petrol money if anyone can.

thank again for all your help.

Have just caught this thread today. How terribly disappointing after all the effort you guys have put in.
However, if this is sorted out and you are still looking for help transporting I live in Leicester and would be happy to help transport part way. I work full time but am available Sat and Sun or after work 5:30pm.
