Its all so confusing.. its like being dumped.. not knowing whats going on!!
My husband is going out again today to leaflet a little bit further a field and to knock on our neighbours doors to see if anyone has seen her. I will keep calling her and seeing if she comes home... it is strange about the litter tray, I have tried to find out about it on the internet to see if it is common for other cats to use another cats tray but its 50/50 on websites, but I am going to stay positive and see what happens. We have moved her food and litter tray near our main door and taped the cat flap open.... so fingers crossed!!

We got our furbaby Poppy home after being AWOL for 8 long days and they only way that we found where she was was by leaflets I had posted around not once, not twice but for a third time all to the same area in 1 week and only the third time was a leaflet seen by the lady that phoned and lead us to the rescue of our furbaby.

Don't worry about bugging people with your posters and leaflets.

The lady said she never ever went to the shop I gave a leaflet to for the third time but that fateful morning she did for the first time and for that last week had been aware of Poppy in her office and trying to catch her and someone in her office was all set to take Poppy home as her own when and if they caught her until she saw my leaflet and then out two and two together, made three and phoned me.

Please do not underestimate leafleting as it lead us to our baby.  Just keep churning them out.

It could still be her, I'm not sure another cat would use her tray - especially if they are an outdoors cat they are probably used to using the great outdoors.  Don't give up hope

Hi Gemma and   :welcome:  to Purrs, so sorry that you have found us under sad circumstances.

Keep leaving the food by the back door even if you are feeding a few different moggies

Yeah she is chipped and registered at our address... The RSPCA cattery called just now to say we are doing everything right and we need to make sure our cat flap is kept open so if she finds her way to the door she we smell the inside of the house, so we are doing that as well now... I really do hope it is her using the litter tray, coz about 2 hours ago it was used again, but unfortuantley we missed her, fingers crossed... I am going out every half an hour to see and making sure there is food down. The cattery said its still early days so not to give up hope and that a cat will always be hang around the place they were last fed.. so hoping she hasnt been fed elsewhere...

Thanks for the support

Gemma

:( oh dear, I hope you find her.  Just a thought as you say she may have been back and you let her out too soon you could ask to borrow a trap from a rescue and set it.  Loads of luck xx

LOST - Our Cat Dora, York, UK - NOW HOME!!
« Reply #1 on: March 09, 2009, 16:55:16 PM »
Dora is Black but her roots are White, so she appears to shimmer. She has a White tip on her tail and a White tip on her right foot. She went missing on Friday 6th March 09.
She is from the RSPCA, we got her 2 and a half weeks ago. She is about 4 years old and quite shy but loves affection. She followed my husband outside and wondered off and we haven’t seen her since. She has been out a few times before but only with us and never ventured further than a few meters before coming back in.
We have put posters up on notice boards and on lamp posts around the area; we have also posted them in letter boxes to the houses near us and behind us (who's back garden backs onto ours).
We have left her food and litter tray outside and her basket with some items of our clothes. This morning (09/03/09) we did notice the food had gone and there were muddy paw prints over our clothes in her basket and the litter tray had been used but unfortunately we don’t know if it is her (I am not sure whether other cats would use her litter tray or not). We have put these items in our greenhouse (the litter tray is in another part of our garden under shelter) so hopefully it maybe her but we'll just have to keep calling her name.

We miss her sooo much. She is our first cat and stupidly we have made a mistake letting her out so soon... We love her so much and I am crying all the time with worry... She loves affection and always followed us around and wanted to be loved. She came from the RSPCA so we know her life before had may have been tough and all we want to do is make her life happier and love her forever.
We live in York, Ashley Park Road, near Stockton Lane. Contact 07950589964
