We have a website and we dont mension on it how much of a donation we expect for a cat/kitten but to me if a person cant pay the minuim then I am sorry we dont let the kitten/cat go to them
When I went to have a look at the kitten, I was asked for 10 deposit, which I found normal.
We dont do deposits we carry out homechecks
as we have different cats from shelters and all are perfectly taken care of. But they wouldn't change their mind, paid me back the deposit.
something make me think that they didnt carry out a home check or they would have known you had other cats?
Any decent rescue would not of turned you down for questioning the fee, they would usually inform you what the fee covers ie first vacs, worm and flea treatment and possibly a spay/neuter for when they reach 6 months!
Its a good idea to check out kitties etc through the web but before you pay any monies you are better of seeing in the flesh.... ![Wink ;)](https://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/Smileys/purrs smilies/wink.gif)
I agree with that an explation should have been given if required
Also want to add as I am getting tired of adding quotes
Adoptions do not in anyway cover the costs of the cats stay or any treatment while it has been in a rescue or even with a fosterer some of the cats bills can run in to 100s of euros and that is only for one cat
50e for nuetering/speying
20e vaccination
6e worm tablet
8e flea treatment
Then there is the cost of food/ litter and if you have a foster cat like one of mine that has an allergy to most cat litter we have to buy the expensive one for her..
then there is toys bedding
Then there is Felv/Fiv testing which can be expensive
On top of that most cats that come into rescue are injured or sick that takes a huge drain on money
I had a litter of kittens last yr all were very ill when we got them but all stops were pulled out to save them sadly we got them to 4 wks and 4 of them died one by one we only managed to save one of them and she has been rehomed this litter cost 100s of euros and the adoption fee in no way covered the cost even if all 5 had lived...
I wish you luck with your new kitten but do spare a thought to us rescue people we work flat out to save these furry guys
