Well I'm happy that she did not have to spend a long time at a foster home, as nice as that and the foster person might be, the longer she stayed there the more used she would have got to it and the harder it would have been to go to a new place again, she probably would feel another rejection which was avoided by finding a home so fast, that makes me really happy..

Unfortunately I am a type of person where I only believe what I see   :-[ , I want to believe that all what I read here is true, unfortunately I will never be a 100% sure, but that's something I will just have to live with as there is nothing I can do about it.

I don't want to sound ungrateful...... I'm very grateful for all the help I received here and from the Cats Protection. Thanks.

I still feel bad about having to give her up and I miss her a lot not to mention that I feel like a failure for not being able to care for her, but hopefully she got the best home and will be very happy and that's what matters at the end.

Thanks everyone.

I did a home visit for the most wonderful home on Monday- large garden, very quiet road, someone home all the time and they are very experienced with timid cats- they find them mroe rewarding than obviously friendly types. (I wish I had a pattern to knit more of these types of homes!  :evillaugh:) They came to view Bella tonight and even though she hid and only let them see her tail from under the bed, they felt they really wanted to give her a chance and homed her! woohoo!
She has the most wonderful home and is going to be so well looked after then. This is the best possible home I have ever seen for a cat like Bella, obviously it was fate that she came into care and they called about homing a cat at a similar time.
Bella, I hope you are very happy in your new home!

You took the sensible route rehoming Bella through a rescue - you did the best for her. I'm sure that's small consolation at the moment to you though.

its a much kinder thing to put her in the care of cp than just letting anyone take her - she will be fine and probably end up very spoilt and you will know you have done the best thing for her

I just had a lady from the Cat's protection charity here, she came to pick Bella up.
This is so hard, I feel really guilty and evil for doing this to her, she was born next door and grew up here, this area is all she ever knew, I had her for 3 years, but can't keep both her and the dog and well....... it's easier to move around with a dog than a cat, and she is younger as well so will be easier for her to adjust.

She's going to a foster home until a permanent home is found for her.

She knew all night I am sure that something was going on, and even this morning, she was so sweet. :(

----------------
Good bye baby, hope you get a good home and will be very happy with your new owner.

I miss you.

She had her vaccination and her teeth cleaned, and she is on antibiotics now as she had a mild gingivitis (no idea how she is young :( ) but anyway, she will be fine, but my transport fell through (my friend can't do it as he has an electrician coming at the same day, that was the earliest time they could come and he has no electricity in his new house so that took priority)  and I am not able to find anyone who would give me a lift from London to surrey with her, and I am not too keen on trains I think it would really scare her and add to the stress...

Guess we will work something out....

The vets and nurses all loved her, lol, apparently she was very patient with them and well behaved, hard to believe cause she puts up a fight when I want to put frontline on her..... guess it she was a bit scared to play up...

Just to let everyone know, Bella is coming into our care this coming week. It's taken a while to get waiting list down and organise transport but She's such a beautiful, I think I shall be able to find her a home quite quickly.

I've given your details to our welfare co-ordinator who will be in touch very soon to organise us fostering and finding a home for the beautiful Bella. I can honestly say our fosterers are fantastic and it's always good for us to be able to assess her personality before homing her to make sure she goes to the best home for her.

If you PM me your details (name phone number) I will give them to our welfare co-ordinator and she will give you a call in the next few days depending on foster spaces. If we do take her in, I promise she will be well cared for and I will find her a lovely home.

When you say SE London, where abouts?
I live near Wollwich Arsenal station, I don't have a car but I can get nearly anywhere by public transport if needed.

When you say SE London, where abouts? I am homing co-ordinator for East Surrey CP and could advertsie her as an 'outcat' where poeple would home her directly from you. We don't have a lot of luck with that though and most people want to adopt directly but some people go for it but if you're not too far and could get to us then we may be able to put her with one of our fosterers who are very experineced and used to socialising cats like her. We are homing like wildflower at teh moment so she wouldn't be without a home for long- she is stunning  :Luv2:

Lots of rescues would welcome that Wildcat as it keeps the rescues free and they can still put you on their website.

Hi Wild Cat

Don't worry, I am sure there is a way you can keep Bella until a home is found for her; I am sure some of the rescue peeps on this forum have done this sort of thing before and can back this up.

Good luck Chick xx

I've contacted all the rescue centers on the list, but all they want to do is put her in a cage while trying to find her a home and I can't put her through that

is there any organization at all which deals with helping to find a home where she could go from me without the "middle home" at a foster care or a center?

How is a foster carer gonna take better care of her than I? I though that it would be welcomed that I want to look after her until a home is found, I do not need to get rid of her right now, she is not abused, or ill or anything like that, so I don't see why noone would attempt to help me to find a home where she could go from me...

I am actually quite disheartened by all this and disappointed.

They want donations from me to take care of her when I can do that better (not that I would not donate, that is not the point) and she is happy here, a middle home is an added stress she doesn't need, she is timid and takes a while to get used to people, just to be rehomed when she does..It is not fair on her...

A beautiful tortoiseshell Bella in need of a new home. [Homed]

Hello everyone,

I need help with finding a new home for my beautiful tortoiseshell cat. She is called Bella and is about 3 years old (I think), neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

She was born in the neighbour's house but they did not really care for her so she cried for a few weeks on my doorstep until I gave in and started feeding her, then when she came to season I asked them if I can keep her, and after they said yes I got her neutered to prevent more kittens.
I never really planned to have a cat as I had a dog already and he was not too keen on her, but they got used to each other and tolerate each other, but recently my marriage broke down and I will have to move and I can not keep them both.

She is an outdoor/indoor cat and loves to be outside, she is also a great hunter, catches a lot of mice, but for luck of socialization (it took me a few weeks to even get her to let me stroke her) she is quite timid. It takes her a while to get used to people so she will need a quiet home with no children.
Once she gets to know you, she will be really affectionate, she loves to be stroked, but does not like to be picked up and handled. It all has to be on her terms   ;)

She is due a vaccination in April, if a home is found for her before that then I might take her for a vaccination a bit early so she doesn't have the added stress of going to the vet with the new owners.
Also, she had the FIV test done when she was neutered (in 2007, as she was an outside cat, and it came back negative, she did not get into any fight since so she should be ok).

I am not moving yet and won't have to for a while but I don't want to rush things when it is too late. I can take care of her until a suitable home is found, but I don't know that many people or how to go about finding her one. I live in the south east of London.

I am attaching a few photos of Bella. She is really pretty
