I would like to say a public thank you to Nikki and the Brent Knoll RSPCA and to Justine for CP for all the work they have done. It is great to see RSPCA, other rescues and all of us jo public working together to reach a positive outcome and I hope it can happen a lot more.

Justine: if you have the contact details of the lady who first found Truman could you thank her for me and all of us here.

So happy.

Detached retinas are usually caused by high blood pressure, unless Truman was in an accident at some point or there was a medical condition involved. He may have been blind all or most of his life but his blood pressure needs to be taken to see if he needs BP meds.

If he had been wandering or trapped in for a while this maybe why he is thin.

This does sound positive, so now we need to know whether RSPCA will release him to go to a good home

does this suggest his very low weight is probably from being starved then?

and what else might have caused the detached retinas? sounds to me, who knows s*d all about poorly cats, as if he might have had a very rough ride along the way

all the more reason for some Purrs love

Some positive news.

Just spoken with the vet (just as well I'm conscientious and didn't nip off home early

From the bloods 'not too terrible'. Some renal compromise (as expected in old cat). She is doing a urine screen tomorrow. Thyroid normal. She said his blood results did not come out as bad as his appearance suggested they might.

Will require ongoing care but in her opinion:

'he is not at a point where euthanasia is the only option'.

Nicky does not know the results yet so she hasn't been able to discuss with her.
