Its still pongy but last night he finally used tray and its nearly there so he has had more Lacto B today and am hoping that by tonight we maybe back to normal

had probs getting to eat the jelly with lacto b in this morning............last night his tummy very bad but he has just used tray and its not quite as bad but we have been there before.

Am just going back onto his other thread to find out when it started cos want to speak to his vet.

I read that it doesn't take long for the bacteria to build up so hopefully there will be a quick result.

Yesssssssssss it arrived this morning and he has todays dose, was a breeze phewwwwwwww..........I hope they work quick cos he has been outside again and when I saw him a few mins agao he was lying on my bed looking smug

Hope poor Franta is feeling better today, I wonder if it's after the abs, they sometimes do that when they are finished, they did to me once and especially if they were strong, hope the product helps

It shouldn't bung him up at all as it is only live bacteria - I'm guessing a scoop at a time. Hopefully the bacteria will colonise quickly and you should see results in a day or 2.

Frantas tummy getting worse and hoping the lacto B will arrive tomorrow, vetuk are far too slow grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Lactulose is a stool softener so he doesnt need that, lacto b is a probiotic powder

Protexin Pro soluble and Lacto B are very easy to give to cats, its like a fine dust that melts away into food/water/milk so they dont notice anything

Hope Franta's tum settles. I'm sure it's the a.bs Gill. Does he eat Hills i/d or similar? May be worth a try for a few days? I'd still run any supplement by the vet as Franta's been so ill and they can react strangely to anything after they've been so ill.

The article I linked to said human ones are fine for pets - just make sure they are the capsules rather than flavoured tablets. The link is well worth a read.

I think the poor boys very embarrassed but I can tell when he has used the tray from downstairs!

He is about the same as yesterday, although this is a lot better than last week.......yes I may have to try and speak to his vet but I dont want to have to take him there as that will stress him badkly and he doesnt need stress.

when I was still crossing my fingers that Trigger wouldn't get the FIP which killed Boycie, and he had awful runs, I had a probiotic paste prescribed which he lapped up like a treat

I found this interesting article - it also recommends them for CRF. I must keep taking them as well as they seem to help my stomach problems too. It says human ones are OK for pets as well. Even a human dose is fine. I got some in Holland & barrett a while ago on offer. 100 capsules for about £5. Most chemists sell them now but make sure they are capsule form so you can sprinkle on food. The tablets are often flavoured do no good for cats.

He doesnt like yogart but might try putting some on his chin.....prob wont be enough though.

I had forgotten about the abs doing that, and that could be the reason cos the brain ones were exceedingly powerful and would think they are the cause.

That would also explain why its slowly getting better so the good abs can build up again.

It sounds like some probiotics might help as ABs kill the good bacteria as well as the bad. If you can't get any, some live yoghurt might help but the lactose might not be a good idea. I don't know why doctors and vets don't recommend them to people when they prescribe ABs

As mosy know Franta has been very ill with some kind of neuro problem but seems to be doing well on that score as far as I can tell.

He was on antibiotics for his brain untl a week ago and also had a two week convenia jab that ran out about last wed.

For the last week he has had a bit of a loose tummy and put it down to some new food. He was producong little cow pats but over the last few days has gradually been improving but still not 100%

He is a jelly licker and a biscuit eater and gets stressed very quickly, so is there anything I can give hime that he will take himself that might make his tummy a bit better.

He doesnt eat human food at all, nor treats and cant afford to starve him cos he is not eating enough.

He only uses the tray once a day so wont know until tonight what he is like today.
