Is that Korky on the canal du Midi by any chance?! Did he not mind the boat?!
I can see why you would think its the Canal du Midi but no, its the summit of the Canal de Bourgogne. Korky is fine on the boat. We confine him down below when we're on the move (seldom more than 4 hour a day) but its plenty big enough for him to wander around in and he doesn't go out much these days anyway. He comes up into the wheelhouse as soon as we moor up and he likes us to open the doors so that he can sit looking out (sometimes he goes ashore, sometimes he doesn't , but when he does he never goes out of sight and rarely stays longer than five minutes unless we are sitting ashore when he will sit with us). That particular picture was taken when we had just come through the Pouilly tunnel (which at the time was unlit) and took an hour to traverse. I don't think he liked that but then neither did I
We moored up as soon as we got out of it and he went round the whole boat, inside and out, inspecting everything to make sure it was all still the same. He obviously thought that going from bright sunlight to dark night and back to bright sunlight all within the space of an hour was a bit odd. The front and back windsecreens drop down fully so he can walk out from the wheelhouse onto the roof - but he doesn't often do that, only when he's feeling particularly adventurous.
